Joke about sep 11 closed?

AoA I know you decide and all, but we are not allowed to discuss IF you can joke about sep 11? Noone maid a joke, so how is it so bad?

Pre-emptive strike in case someone would post one? Can't we keep the level for censure a bit over that?

btw could you leave some sort of explanation for why you close a thread.

I thought it was in bad taste if you cannot see why that thread shouldnt even be allowed to exsist prehaps you should take a step back and find out where your morales are at or have fallen to for that matter.

With fear of being banned, I will try to explain what the purpose of this thread was.

I was not trying to get around the thread closing I tried to get/give feedback about the fact that it was not allowed to discus IF you can joke about a subject. That’s censorship one step up in the chain and I felt it was hard. (Not to be able to talk about IF you can talk about something)

My main feedback was though that as you close a thread you should give a reason. Sa that you did that in another thread, but I guess you don’t feel like doing it all the time.

My post about onion, was done by a miss read - thought spycatcher34 was the admin - and tired to give an example of what I meant concerning how you can joke about sensitive subjects, after consideration I can see that my link can be seen as a way to get by a thread closing (witch was not the point of this post, I have removed that link now.)

(Realising that we now have a discussion over a subject that was and discussion over a subject that was a discussion over a supposed disscution IF you could talk about a subject - hum)

I dont think this is a situation about where x is from adn that people in NY are more affected. It's about human decency and lack thereof. It's not about cencorship or unfair closure of a thread. It's about common sense. And I'd suggest to anyone who still can NOT see why that thread was closed to please go out and get some.

Well, this is my LAST post in THIS thread unless some moderator/administrator picks it up, feels like I'm walking on a minefield here.

Hum, that makes me think about the respect/fear discussion in another thread (can you spank your kid).

Do we respect the moderator’s actions or are we afraid to raise our voice in fear of being banned? Can I start a thread about that? Well perhaps better not, could of course turn into a flame thread, witch would not be mine point (witch would be to discus if we respect or fear people with given authority). Come to think about it, only presenting this philosophical thought could be seen as a flame post. Please don’t.

This is as I said my last post in this thread. Now if an admin/mod answers this post and don’t want me to give a replay please say so. Perhaps you feel like you already done that, well I’m sorry if I misunderstood you then. I’m just that kind of people that don’t want to offend others, and always tries to explain myself if I believe I might have done that, which can of curse have me to continuo (unintentionally) doing it if all they want me to do is to shut the * up.

Imposing an additional "layer" between the subject and the "subject of the subject" does not hide the fact that it is inconsiderate, disrespectful, and completely lacking in "tact" to even imply that the word "joke" can be used in the same breath as September 11th.

Attempted degrees of "dilution" are ineffective, and when purposefully done, offensive.

The word "quibbling" comes to mind here . . . .

The content of the original subject aside, this thread has merit to site feedback (and site rules) in reinforcing the respectful "limits" of indirectly referencing sensitive or otherwise "bannable" topics. If this thread is not closed outright, it might be prudent to modify the subject with a less inflamatory title. No doubt the title alone will draw many more responses, keeping the perception of an intended offense going.
