Just seems bland

I bought the game last week excited to play it...After a few full games, it just seems to bland and a bit watered down. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the no stacking change. Yes it allows for lesser units but to me It seems silly. The AI is dumber than bricks offerring me all their gold 2 cities and all their resources for a peace treaty. The social policies seem ok though I haven't tried all of them yet. I don't know, just feels like something is missing from civ 5.

Played the demo....pretty bland.

Civilization V has made some improvements, but I don't any sense of complexity there was like in the previous game.

Some people will like it but I am going to wait for 2015 for the next one.

You actually finished a full game??? :wow:

To cap it off, all you get is a "gg, you've won!" at the end + some basic end game demographics. No replay of the world's history or power graphs, or a lost of which city had the most... Nothing.

I have been quite critical of some aspects of ciV and there is a heck of a lot of work to be done. However, the game has enormous potential.

I think with some patches that tweak the game balance and the AI along with some expansions this game will become great.

Right now it is merely good. It is fun in some ways (the combat system is quite good) but it seems tedious in others. Insert 500 gold for food, culture or military units City States come to mind. More interesting and meaningful interaction will help there.

However, the game will improve just like cIV did. It is up to us Fanatics to tell Firaxis that the game is currently unacceptable. I do have faith in Firaxis.

I agree with all of this except while I think the combat system is quite good, someone needs to tell the AI about it?

Lets hope so! All this does is make me wanna play civ IV again...

I don't think I could that despite believing that Civ4 was the greatest game I had ever played in 22 years of PC gaming. Had definitely got into a rut with Civ4. The only thing I would think about doing is to play one of the WW2 mods again.
