K 4 - Killing spree?

preturn: massive rushing everywhere

(1) exposed Knight killed by longbowman, worker lost  prepare to invade for Saltpeter/Horse pillage in both countries.

(2) Two Roman Cavs kill two Immortals in Shanghai. Killing them is a pain in the ass as both are full-HP :( They actually survive two Knights and 1 Immo and still have two HP left each - I abandon Shanghai as it WILL fall (the AIs never get bad RNG rolls). Canton retaken, includes killing 1 Army (1 Cav in it) and several Musketmen.

(3) a 1 HP(!) cavalry kills a 2 HP Immo in Canton and the city falls  Knight near France attacked by Longbow - survives! Canton retaken and razed. Cannot pillage Rome soon  Rifleman has attacked our immotal near France and has two HP left - Immortal kills him. Pillage some more in France. Two immortals die, then Kiev is ours again.

(4) France starts loosing resources - 1 spice disconnected, I wine only road now. costs us 1 Musketman :( killed across river by Longbowman - oh well.....

some units near saltpeter @ Gordium now. Can move unto it next turn.

(5) Two Riflemen (conscript) and 1 Longbow aim for Salamanca - France really gets aggressive. I disconnect the Wine, kill the Lingbow who killed the Immo pillaging the Spice. Cannot get at the hurt Rifleman who killed the 2nd Immo there :( need more Knights - but where from? move into Frnace some more, our knights are holding up fine against the Longbowmen. Roman Saltpeter blocked.

(6) Fracne disconnects our spices at the west coast by ironclad. Two Immos luck out against Longboemen (1 HP left each). Some more pillaging in Fracne, the Roman saltpeter is gone. Things look a bit better. Fracne wants 40 Gold for peace, down from 100 last turn.

(7) Frqacne gets really bad now - they use Riflemen to attack our fortified elite Knight. He retreats, then gets killed by follow-up :( We take Gordium. Rome will not talk though. But France is willing to pay up 20 Gold. :D

(8) next turn we may try to take Nottingham - maybe. French kill 1 Immo. i have set Rheims as trap - they go for it. Now will empty Athens to keep them moving around. France unwilling to offer any money atm for peace. I sidn peace with Rome for 12 Gold :D They cannot get saltpeter as it is atm :D

(9) counterattacks light - only three Longbowmen, no Rifles: dead: 1 immo, retreats: 1 knight.
France is willing to give Military Trad for WM and peace!!!!!!!

I do not get this!

(10) :aargh: France attacks us!!!!!!!!!!!! WTH????? htey move and move - and at the end they suddenly use three Longbows to kill two immos. No "get out" message or so - just suddenly at war!!!!!!! Save, reload - asks me out  will continue wiht the war  even thouhg it must be a bug. Raze Nottingham for revenge (losses slight).

:lol. kill a barb camp near Gordium  upgrade some Knights.
(11) France kills three knights (wounded from Nottigham), costs them two Riflemen. Kill one exposed attack Rifle with Cav. Yay! Capture 4 workers exposing immo, spred them as bait.

(12) France takes bait and looses Rifleman against immo. 2nd kills him. 1 worker still free. Slow and ordered retreat from mountains near ex-Nottingham - want them to heal and upgrade Knights. Pillage on the way. france will not talk - bad conscience i guess! Expose Rheims again to draw units out.

(13) Rheims flips  There are Cav in Athens - use them. 1 retreats, second takes city and goes elite. Settler and escorts go for Nottingham spot.

(14) France continues to attack Musketmen in the mountains - if they want to die I won't keep them from it . Paris is cut off (though 1 road is still there - our units on it), lots of Immos and Cav there to attsck it next turn.

(15) French lonboemen kill three escorts of the settler - what bad luck there are still 5 left :p Found Bactra, cut off Paris. The attack goes well - 5 Immos die but two win. Cav sweeps in and finishes the job - we have Shakeys and Hanging Gardens (still work for us!).

France pay up 6 workers and 270 Gold. let's hope it will not be another bug-war....

mmm Cav means KICK ASS TIME!

civ_steve: you no how the job of quietly getting us ready to kill all cities on our continent! remember: conquest is off, too - so we NEED to kill France off before someone builds the UN!!!!!

Lots of give and take with France, but it sounds like the we've gone round the corner. Once France is gone ... that's it, baby!!

I've got it, but I wont be able to post until Friday morning, west coast time. If cgannon64 wishes to step in, I'll defer to him. Otherwise, it'll be almost 48 hours. Meanwhile, I'll keep the 'implements of persuasion' warmed up for Caeser!! ;)

btw: loe the phrase: 'implements of persuasion' :D

that's my style

I've get really bad news for you all. The game is about to get terribly boring!!! Here's the recap:

1650 AD Inherited mid-turn. Peace Everywhere. Stack and Fortify.

1655 AD Roman Settlers moving around with escorts. Galley. Move, Fortify. Begin Forbidden Palace in Lyons.

1660 AD More movement and stuff. Bangalore looks tempting.

1665 AD Peace treaty with India about to expire? Indeed!!! :) Bangalore falls. Indian Cav in Mountains above London is bombarded and destroyed, 1 Cav lost. What does Joan think of this? Not much.

1670 AD Build

1675 AD Start Building Caravels in Aztec Zone. Possible Beach Landings against India. Rome founds Pisae, is looking quite agressive. I want to attack!! :scan: What
the hell. Destoy Pisae, losing 1 immo. Kill 1 cav, lose 3 immos against 3 high Roman stack near Gordium.

1680 AD Rome Kills 2 immos, takes Gordium. :( We kill Cav, LongBow, Retake Gordium. :)

1685 AD Rome LongBow Kills immo. French Ironclad to the South, Galley to the North and West. Destroy Rome LongBow, and 1 Leg. Fortify Gordium, Rest Cavs.

1690 AD Consolidate at Gordium.

1695 AD Rom LongBow Takes worker! We kill LongBow and 1 Leg. Mini-SOD moves into Roman territory.

1700 AD Rom Rifle Attacks immo, loses!! :p

1705 AD Move next to Veii.

1710 AD Rom LongBow Kills immo, takes Saltpeter. We kill LongBow, retake Saltpeter (but he might be able to build a Cav) We Take Veii, no losses!! :D

1715 AD Heal, Build, Consolidate.

1720 AD More of the same. French LongBow-Settler moving through our territory. French worker trying to connect Saltpeter near Teotihuican.

1725 AD Roman LongBow lands near Beijing. Veii Flips (losing 1 Cav, 1 Musk). Retake Veii. Kill LongBow

1730 AD Lose immo to Rome Longbow.

1735 AD France connects up Saltpeter. This means War!! (2 turns early, but they're not going to get Cavs!!.) Kill Fr LongBow, get 2 workes. Pillage France, set up Settler near Orleans. Set workers to road Mountain near London. Move next to Rome. Found Sidon near Gordium.

1740 AD Rome engages in field, kills 1 immo, 1 musk. Fr Rifle-Settler emerge from London (into the middle of the Persian forces!!) :crazyeye: We kill them dead. Build Road, move Cannons onto Mountain next to London, Build city next to Orleans. Move muskets up to isolate Orleans. Constrict on London.
Kill Rom LongBow, Rifle in Field. Our Cavalry charges, and Rome is ours!! But Caesar wont acknowledge our envoy. The implements are ready for you Caesar!

1745 AD Fr Cav comes out of London, takes newly formed city near Orleans :( Fr LongBow-Settler combo leave London towards Teotihuican. We bombard London, no effect. But our Cavalry Leader's charge on anyway!! London falls after several charges, 1 lost cav! And now onto Orleans! It FALLS!!! :D A non-used Cavalry chases down Fr Settler :scan: and FRANCE IS HISTORY! :D :D Joan's head is placed on pole at the gates of Persepolis!!

1750 AD Move in on India. Kill Roman Leg and form stack on Hill. Find and kill Barbs. Persian Special Forces Unit lands on Indian Saltpeter. :) 2nd Unit loaded up into Caravel at Teotihuacan. City of JoansHead founded near Paris; Joan's head placed on permanent display.

civ_steve retires :king:

All that's left on our continent is 2 Indian cities and 1 Roman city. The vast Persian hordes that just overran the French are closing in on India. There's a decent sized stack of Cav near the last Roman city. The Forbidden Palace has been started in Lyons.

So ... what victory do we wish to go for?

Here's the save game:
