it's past lunch time... where is it. Oh, you probanly mean lunchtime in California, not here is DC where hordes of Persian Immortals are looting and pillaging and such.:cool:
 
Lunchtime is often more a state of mind than a set time. :crazyeye: (Plus, I've been having lots of problems with the forum server today!!)

OK, here's the recap:

1295 AD, civ_steve again takes the reins of the Persian Empire. Planning - contain Rome (save them for last), ignore Babylon, Germany, India (too small and backward); France is the problem, but America must go first. :hammer: All extra defensive units, report to nearest Barracks for your Muskets. Outlying cities, build libraries, and then Immortals. Press citizens into army! Form settlers to build bases from which to stage attacks. Overseers, order extra whips!!! :egypt: Move armies towards Washington. Form new armies to South and East of France. Amer. Cav kills 1 immo but remains in field.

1300 AD, An elite Immo destroys Amer. Cav. Armies begin moving.

1305 AD, No American attacks; has Abe spent his last offensive unit? Rome moves worker/Cav to reconnect pillaged saltpeter. Persian Armies move; defense upgrades occur.

1310 AD, all civs have trade embargoes agains us. Mass army movement; upgrades. Lots of whip cracking sounds.

1315 AD, Amer. Cav comes from York; kills 1 immo; retreats to Wash. Armies in American territory; pillage begins. Whips, whips,...

1320 AD, Amer. Cav kills another Immo. He must die! :mad: Knight-Army formed near Thebes; assignment - counter any aggresive AI move in SouthEast corner. Muskets moving in around Washington reduces Amer Cav easy targets. Pillaging continues.

1325 AD, exchange WM's with Rome. Amer Cav avoids Muskets, mountains, kills exposed immo, but can't retreat to Washington. One of our Knights ends this threat! :D 8 hexes immediately around Washington are pillaged; we control all high grounds.

1330 AD, Ducking under fire, a settler founds city in American Territory; potential risk of flip, but provides quicker access to America for our forces, and reduces the number of workable tiles for Washington's citizens. Amer Cav kills our brave Knight; we counter, killing the Cav. Washington's citizens are feeling the squeeze.

1335 AD, 2 Amer Longbow attack!! (Abe is out of horses.) 1 dies, and 1 kills a immo, and then dies. We occupy all food sources around Washington.

1340 AD, Occupation continues; pillaging begins towards York.

1345 AD, India declares war on us! Occupy, pillage, whip!! :whipped:

1350 AD, Our troops are amused by the parade of French Cavalry each turn. Occupy, pillage, whip.

1355 AD, DC has been starved to a size 6. Start assembling the assault force! Amer Longbow from York kills Musket.

1360 AD, Indian galley approaches. Cannons begin bombardment. Gordium is founded on Roman border; their Saltpeter is now ours!! :cool:

1365 AD, French start building Universal Suffrage. India's galley is scared off by our stack of Immos outside Tenochtitlan. Amer York LongBow defeated. Washington Assault Force receives final briefings; Washington is now a size 4.

1370 AD, Our combined forces group surges towards Washington; 6 immos take the brunt of the defensive fire, but the 4 defending riflemen are dispatched. Washington is ours! :die: But, Abe wont deal. :(

1375 AD, A small Indian force (2 swords, 1 spear) attacks our York Pillage group; they lose 1, we lose 1. Our counter destroys their spearman. Our American Task Force starts to heal, and moves towards York. civ_steve retires. :king:
 
Here's my thoughts: York is nearly completely pillaged; if America wont give us techs, then I say finish 'em. There's a lot of units around Washington; some need healing. I started accumulating Immortals near Athens, and in former Aztec lands, eventually to be used in squeezing France.

Oh yes ... our Knight army has not seen combat yet. Maybe sealman would like to test them out against the last Babylonian city! :D

Finally, I know that worker pop-rushing is illegal in GOTM. If it isn't here, I've set up the NorthWest cities to feed workers to Ulundi and Madras for occasional worker pop-rushing. That's it!

civ_steve, this is one of the best examples of how AIs that won't deal should be treated! Right on!

wonderfull - sealman gets the last Babs - go get them! (You may need to go over 20 turns if you do it not by brute force but in fine style - well then do so).......

1) Position troops, begin to move in and around York

2) York counterattacks out positions - archer is defeated, loss of some hitpoints to knight. America wants peace for 20 gold.... tell them that I want one of their techs... they say drop dead. India takes Teotihucan.

3) Babylon and America sign MMP. Babylon declares war on us. Sounds like fun to me :)

4) Indian pikemen seen running through our territory, they are now pushing up dasies, move army towards Ur. York is isolated and dropping in population.

5) Bum Rush York, loss 2 immortals but city is ours, along with some university named after somebody named Newton. Americans are history... should have given me a tech!

6) Knight Army marches on city of Ur, it falls most easily (too bad the French won't fall that easy). Babylon is history.

7 - 10) Immortals and knights are preparing for French war, York army begins to carefyllu move through French terriritory to put pressue on India to end war, they want peace for peace.

11) French moves troops into Persia and declares war! WTH... don't they know that it is bad form to declare war while your troops are in your opponents territory :rolleyes: Steves Folly 2 is taken.

12) France and Germany sign military alliance against us.

13) Pillage 1 French saltpeter source, move troops onto another and a stack of immortals are closing in on the 3rd source.

14) retake Teotihuacan, pillage another French saltpeter and the immortals land on the third. France can build no more calvary (although those rifles are a pain) Still India wants peace for peace.

15) Troops begin siege of Orleans, cannon destry barracks and temple. Also begin siege of former Greek city (can't recall the name, could not read it because of the scores of Persian troops around)

16) French source of horse is pillaged.

17) Orleans marketplace is destoryed

18/19) French counterattacks kill a couple of Immortals and knights around 2 sieged cities.

20) Liepzig falls since the Germans refused to give us tech for peace... What a shame. EDIT: Germans are history.

India might give us techs if we can bust though Orlenas and take one of their last 2 cities, but for some reason i doubt it. France will be a pain but since they no longer have saltpeter or horses, their counterattacks should begin to sputter, until those sources are reconnected. Rome has been unusally quiet and I have a sneaking suspision that they will decalre war on us during the next set of turns.

Just finished and submitted GOTM12 (barely in time.) So, this is my first chance to respond since posting my turn.

Killer - Glad you approve!! Kind of a brute force way to go about it, buuuuuut ... so what. They should have traded (as if it would have mattered!)

sealman - sorry if your afternoon nap was interrupted by all those Immortals moving around. I told them to be quiet about it. :lol: Your trade was probably not according to this game's rules. Killer will have to verify if so. (For your punishment, you must attack the French. Whoops, too late.)
 
Indeed, the trade would have been against the rules since we had no tech to sell them for theirs.

2nd attempt

First time who knows what I did but it seems like I had an extra set of URL codes :suicide:

That and I forgot to put the extention on the end (.sav or .zip) I was in too much of a rush to get it up so that I could go run off and buy PTW (which the stores do not have :mad: )

edit: worked this time... by the way, i did not make the trade that i referred to, was not sure if it was legal.
edit 2: anyone know what happened to the avatar?
