Kaboth's 8 player PBEM game - Conquests

On we go again,
Sent to Eliit Mees

I'm on the road until Tuesday for the holiday (Labor Day/3 day weekend here in the States).

Haha guys, I got the file (just got in to my parents but brought the computer with me), but I'm having some difficulties setting up a dual installation... I got the two copies of Civ3 on my machine just fine, but I can't figure out how to install Conquests onto the new directory. Anyone have some help for me? Thanks

Played and sent. I was having some graphical problems from where I tried to have two installs, so I reinstalled and patched 1.20 first and will now apply 1.22 update.

I'll just be doing the upgrade/downgrade route, I think. Having two installations just gave me a world of trouble, and now I have an installation that is not registered in the Add/Remove Programs directory, but its no biggy since I was planning on doing a reformat within a few months anyhoo...

I'm getting a brand new computer and passing this one on to my dad!! :D

Warlord_Sam this is how I did my dual install:

1 rename your civilization/conquests folder something else, like c3c or something
2. then, uninstall civ from add/remove programslist
3. then, install conquests again into the default directory, and install whatever patch u need
4.the patches will affect the new installation becoz the pc thinks the other installation isnt there anymore.

Fanste showed me how to do it, maybe it'll help you too.

Hello. I cannot get to this for a couple of days because my hard drive is dead. I am on a different computer right now, the first chance i have had to use a computer with the web. I will let you know when i can go again. Damn hard drive.

Kaboth, you may want to find a replacement player for me. I'm going to be spending weekdays out of town for up to eight weeks and would only be able to play on the weekends.

Resent.

I'm going to be gone until Friday. I know I mentioned in a previous post that you might want to find a replacement for me, but I'd really hate to drop out....my work situation will have me on the road for weekdays for at least three weeks, it's looking like the eight weeks is unlikely now.

superslug, That's ok for 3 weeks. I don't mine you have been a very committed player plus Dogboy has had hardware problems and won't be playing for several days anyway. Almost makes you wish Civ was on console at least there'd me less hardware problems :) Anyway heres the message I received from Dogboy below.

Hello to everyone. If you are getting this it's because you are involved in
one or more of my PBEM games. The reason you haven't been getting any games
from me is because my computer is down. For some reason my computer keeps
rebooting. Right before it gets to the windows desktop, I get the "blue screen
of death" for a microsecond and then the computer reboots. I called 1-800-
geeksquad and they tried to help me but were unable. I have taken my computer
in to get all my important files backed up before I format my hard drive and
reinstall Windows XP. Best case scenario is my hard drive was not affected and
I don't lose everything. Worse case scenario is my hard drive is bad and I
have lost all my pictures, important files, etc... Bottom line is I won't have
my computer for another 4-5 days, and then I have to reinstall all my programs
and get all the current XP updates. I don't think I will be back online before
the weekend of Sep 24, but hopefully I will be on sooner.

Since I don't have my computer I don't have access to my address book so I know
I left some people off. I had to type these e-mail addresses in from memory.
So...

Heihojin: Let everybody in the HHJ games that I'm involved in know.
Rubberjello: Please post in fast game, WW2 game, seafaring game.
civaddict: Please let the NAA games and SB guys know.
Jonrs: I got HHJ #13 but I have no way to play it.
Kaboth: I got fast game and Rocky but have no way to play it. Please let the
rest of Kaboth guys and Rocky know.

Thanks everybody and hope to be back on soon.

p.s. If I didn't mention a game here but you know I'm involved in it and you
don't see the other members of the game in the TO: line up top, then please
post it on the message board.

To all: I finally got my computer up and running. It had a problem that made the computer constantly reboot and there was nothing I could do. I had to wipe my hard drive and reinstall Windows XP. I am currently downloading all patches, drivers, and reinstalling all my programs. I should be able to play again real soon. Thanks for being patient.

I don't have this game in my e-mail so if you sent it to me I never got it. Also, I need Warlord Sam's e-mail address as I lost all my .pst files.

my email address is nachosamurai at verizon dot net

Update: My workplace isn't going to fully reopen until the first week of November (after which I should have no issues). In the meantime I am home for at least a week, so if we're stopped just because of me, feel free to resume!

So has anyone seen this game recently, with Dogboy's crash I have no idea where it is anymore? maybe I'll send my last sav around again soon if I don't see it.

I don't have it. When I got my computer fixed it was not in my inbox. And all my other PBEMs are going smoothly so I'm pretty sure I'm not holding it up.

We should go by the last dated .sav? According to my computer, mine is 9/7.

Ok I've sent the file to Oblivion again hopefully we can see where the problem lies

My mistake I should have sent this to Eliit Mees, Resent.
