KaTiON's Space Maps

The asteroids being in Orion Arm was a mistake oops, forgot to remove them as they were meant to guide me when placing things.

What do you mean by lumps in virgo supercluster?
Small groups, just like star terrain is making stars in Transtellar space.

Like this? Features with megastructures are galaxies, the ones that do not have are dwarf galaxies.

Check it out now.
You can add Methane Ice at Norway's coast right at ice.

Asteroid surfaces can be two tiles long in asteroid belt.
Stars in Transtellar space shouldn't contain two same planets.
Make sure that all sunlike and red giants have 3 planets at least and red dwarfs - at least two planets.
Most of stars have planets except for brightest and biggest ones like blue supergiants.
White/Brown dwarfs features should be closer to stars, so they would come within third working radius.

In some places Virgo Supercluster has too much empty space.
And why Observable Universe sector is 9 tiles thick? It meant to be 7 tiles thick.

You can reduce starting gold for civs to 50, as they will get gold from natural wonders anyway.
There is one natural wonder missing: Klyuchevskaya Sopka

9 tiles thick because of the intergalactic void that borders the top and bottom. That way there are 7 tiles of height of workable space.

Observable Universe can border top and bottom too.
Its just that intergalactic void would get different improvements than observable universe.
Both of them have same map category.

Standard Solar System (v2)
  • Extra-solar zones are now stacked on top of one another as height was increased from 165 tiles to 200 tiles
  • Civilizations now have different names and leaders (Aztec, Inca, Greece, Egypt, Babylon, China and Aborigines)
  • Mesopotamia and Nile are now plains (from grassland and lush)
  • Removed resources that were in the middle of oceans and placed them closer to coast
  • Methane Ice now solely exists in polar waters
  • Added missing tar bonuses
  • Salt flats now exist in every desert
  • Replaced erroneous Krakatoa in Kamchatka peninsula with Klyuchevskaya Sopka
  • Removed sulfur and obsidian bonuses from Himalayan mountains as those were causing said mountains to erupt
  • Every civilization now has 50 :gold: starting treasury (from 300)

Everything looks very good now :)

I have finally settled the complete earth part of the Tiny Alternate System map. I think it is a really good map with many good places to settle down. I have put 51 cities on the map which are not too close to each other so I think it is really big enough for a fun game. Turn times are also excellent (modern age). Thanks again for providing this!

Glad you enjoyed it!

Next month I will begin work on the tiny alien system with a revamped and more enjoyable space part, and I won't forget to notify you.

Are all possible features found on given terrain?

For example to get Grass manufactured resource you need Very Tall Grass feature.

Very tall grass is found on plains and tundra in the map.
It shouldn't be on Tundra. Refer to my excel guide so you can see where features can be placed.

Oasis can't be next to each other, next to river and next to coast. Can't be placed on Hill.
Flood Plains must be on tile bordering river and must be on flat terrain.
Cactus, Tar Pit and Peat Bog must be on flat terrain.
Forest/Ancient Forest are essentially same thing.

Allowed features on terrain (Earth):
Salt Flat - Nothing.
Dunes - Oasis, Flood Plains, River, Desert Outcrop.
Desert - Oasis, Flood Plains, Cactus, Savanna, Tar Pit, Desert Rocks, River.
Scrub - Oasis, Flood Plains, Forest, Cactus, Savanna, Very Tall Grass, Tar Pit, Rainwater Basin, Desert Rocks, River.
Plains - Flood Plains, Forest, Bamboo, Savanna, Very Tall Grass, Tar Pit, Peat Bog, Rainwater Basin, River.
Grassland - Jungle, Forest, Swamp, Bamboo, Savanna, Very Tall Grass, Tar Pit, Peat Bog, Rainwater Basin, River.
Taiga - Forest, Tar Pit, Peat Bog, Rainwater Basin, Polar Rocks, River
Tundra - Tar Pit, Rainwater Basin, Polar Rocks, River.
Permafrost - Polar Rocks, River.
Ice - Tar Pit, Polar Rocks.

Jagged - Tar Pit, Volcano, Polar Rocks, River.
Badland - Tar Pit, Volcano, Desert Rocks, River.
Barren - Tar Pit, Volcano, Dark Rocks, River.
Rocky - Forest, Bamboo, Savanna, Very Tall Grass, Tar Pit, Volcano, Dark rocks, River.
Lush - Jungle, Forest, Swamp, Bamboo, Mangrove, Very Tall Grass, Tar Pit, Rainwater Basin, River
Marsh - Jungle, Forest, Swamp, Bamboo, Mangrove, Very Tall Grass, Tar Pit, Rainwater Basin, River
Muddy - Jungle, Flood Plains. Forest, Swamp, Bamboo, Mangrove, Very Tall Grass, Tar Pit, Rainwater Basin, River.

Water features:
Reef and Coral - Temperate Coasts and Lakes.
Sea Grass - Temperate/Tropical Coasts
Kelp - Temperate/Polar Coasts
Ice - Polar Coasts/Seas/Oceans/Trenches.

Next version will fix the tall grass issue as well as three others: wrong coast type tile near indonesia, wrong ocean tile that should be coastal near japan and adding ocean trenches.

Make sure all terrains utilize all possible features to cover all terrain/feature prereq combos :)
