Looks great - I especially like the skin you put on it.

i have seen this and thought that i MUST try to make this one. Thank you for saying that the work was it worth

added second skin (white), was a fast reuse of the old one so don´t expect something fanatisc :p (but i like the result)

thanks for the advise, making a good texture is still the hardest part (along with making the model, get the uv map and bring the result in game ;) ).

I still try to figure out what work is still visible in game and what is work only for me (with my 1024 work textures the models look much better, i try to make dirt, shadows, etc. but when reducing to 256 and in game most of this details are lost :crazyeye:, still learning :))

I say screw reducing it, its not just for the sole purpose of providing a unit for these old farts, its your ARTWORK COYOTE! :p

I keep my textures at 512x512 or if they're highly detailed (B-25, ahem) I keep them at 1024, people whine and complain, and I don't care. If they want a crappy unit they can resize it themselves. ;)

Anyway, I suggest you take a little look at the tutorial, it sounds like you've got most of the basic stuff down already, but that guy has lots of tips that can really enhance your skills.

Yeah, it's a really bad choice to have to make... at 1024, there are many good details, but it's large enough that if you have a lot of those units, then the slowdown will start to be noticeable. :dunno:

Which is why you can resize it yourself if you want to, its not hard.

Get a texturing program, open it up, and resize it to whatever you want.

Do a google search for "Paint dot Net" with the DDS plugin. (the DDS Plugin is separate...)

Yeah... I found that out this weekend too... built-into Paint.NET... unfortunately, after years of using Paint Shop Pro... I can't stand Paint.NET... too cumbersome!
