I was making an update to my Empire of the Rising Sun scenario in FW. Many of the times I open the game, I get an error message saying that Civ2 has made an error. That can usually be handled by closing and restarting the game. When I wanted to change the propertíes of a city (using SHIFT+CTRL+D) the error message appeared again. This could not be handled by trying again, it comes every time I try to edit a city.
When I got MGE, I found out that it could not handle Major Objective cities, so I copied my FW version into another folder, and I use it to create scenarios. FW scenarios are also compatible with MGE but the MGE's are not compatible with FW, and therefore I need to create scenarios in FW.
I cannot make scenarios with these errors appearing all the time (:( ).

Can anyone help me?

first off, IIRC to edit a cities properties, its ctrl+shift+c.

i don't quite understand what you are saying about having the FW and MGE files in two different folders, do you mean you have two complete versions of civ2 installed, one FW and one MGE? if that's the case, i think you should make sure you know which version of civ you are opening up. if the two types are sharing files, i think you might want to unistall it all and start over.

oh yeah, MGE does support major objective cities, its at the very bottom of the list its says "toggle city major objective" it would make it have an objective worth of 3

While the major city objective does appear on the menu, the feature does not work when you go to play the game in MGE. If you control a major objective city you're supposed to get 3 points, but you get zero points. That's what people mean when saying the feature does not work. BTW, the same bug is in Test of Time.

insurgent,
I think you ought reinstall FW and MGE. I have these 1 installation for each on my computer. If their files are mixed up with each other, which it sounds like is the case, I don't think it would work too well.

OK, I wrote a wrong "IIRC".

I have a folder called MPS in my Program Files. In the MPS folder there is a Multiplayer Gold folder, a Fantastic Worlds folder, a Civilization III folder and a scenario folder. So, yes I have both MGE and FW installed in the same time, but they don't share anything but the scenario folder.

Major Objectives: Of course it is in the bottom of the Edit City window, I know that, but it just doesn't work...

if you tried editing the scenario with MGE, it'll be classified as a MGE scenario then.

I know that, and that's why I used FW, but as you can read, it doesn't work...

Morten, you're from Denmark, and so am I, so the wording of the error is in Danish...
