Keldath addons

Going great keldath on the 5UU only version...but of course the V3.1 w/patch 3 worked fine for me too :)

1856 AD and no CTD...AI has had lotsa war but I built Great Wall so might not be good test.

well keldath, did you read in the sevomod that sevo himself also found a CTD at some point of the game, and never managed to figure out what was causing it? I assume his CTD is not ours...but still..very wierd right? :)

hi - you should get the movies - but not the great wall movie - its a different file name.

Actually at least on my install, the GW movies for sevo and warlords have exactly the same name greatwall.bik just one has GREATWALL.bik and other greatwall.bik
 
that explains alot..i guess since noone is reporting you are the only one playing the 5UU...anyway...im down to the CTD..it's something with the promotions..i thought it to be stack attack still..i was wrong...i figured out in debugging while attacking in stack selection, the unit with the +20city attack attacks the city and causing CTD..if i leave all units with +city attack out, i can attack unlimited without CTD..so maybe here's the CTD..going to check out these routines now..but hold a grip...alot of people have modded all the attack bonusses..so im not sure what to find..

took out city raider I promotion...i finally can play without CTD and capture the city :)
no im going to track down ALLL the code that is involved with this promotion...
i noticed there are 2 names for this promotion, it is called the city raider, but gives city attack bonus, maybe in some of the
codes there is a wrong reference because of this confusing namind...who knows :)
 
I have a question in the mid to late part of the game all of the sudden city production of anything ww, any building ,troops antthing . production almost triples or quapuples in cost what causes this just courious
 
the city attack promotion being the CTD cause makes sense as everything I've had a cTD it's been Melee and I always use the city attack bonus on troops used for city assaults
 
Donkey puncher I think that's actually part of the game - the time between turns as in date gets shorter as you get near modern age but also perhaps it's echoing inflation after all look at wembley stadium in the uk - estimated cost £80M total cost so far >£120M (costs probably wrong but you get the idea I hope)
 
Now Im sick and was a lot busy with university(ok, lots to do in tihs weekend also) and I was tresting warlords(still finisheing it) cuz I only tried with your addon that caused ctd, so I didnt even enjoy vasaal states hehe, but this weekend or begining of next week(sorry short time) I see if I try 5UU standalone..Anyway I bet its the same ctd..
 
just found an error on the city raider promotion :) but im not so good at xml and how everything is connected..kel, when you get online...PM me in MSN messenger..I'll inform you everything there..it's easier then here :)

Is it? lol..I was looking at xml this days and it seemd pretty logical to me..But also a lot of work and really boring lol..

i dont want to get into politics of real life, since real life politics of these days are nothing more then:"lying and screw up european population for the sake of the millionairs getting more millions" but...
I knew the first chair person of the dutch building organization southern netherlands(he passed away 3years ago)..officially this organization doesn't exist, because it would be like a monopol, but they incoorporate all major building companies(every smaller who does not play by their rules will be killed or destroyed, guess why we still have high murder rates in europe)
they agree on prices, who gets the job, etc etc..and what they also do, they press prices on purpose to help politicians to convince the population and members of city councils etc to approve for the building...they never release the real price, they first spy on everyone, what they would go for..and they keep their price under this level..then it goes through the council, everyone then votes an agree...order and money inside :) then they start to build, and they claim extra costs for all kinds of things...of course inflation has a little cause to this also, but take into account that inflation also reduces the value of debts and loans to construct the building....mostly costs just rise becuase our politicians and Concrete Maffia has nothing more to do then destroy the European Union and lie to all of us...

in Germany it's even worse..most building companies are owned by children(grandchildren) of former high ranking NSDAP people from hitlers nazi party...most of them personal friends of adolf...after WWII USA thought germany must be build up quickly to form a strong alliance and buffer zone between the west and USSR, and USA thought a strong germany, would be quicker build up, if you keep the old power structure, the people who were in control already..just cut off the heads, but keep everything else intact..so most high ranking NSDAP members claimed all building equipment for themselfs...got money from the marshall plan, invested this in their newly formed companies, etc etc ...really bad...and this is merely the same in all of europe...it's today not NAZI anymore..but still maffia! :) in ALL COUNTRIES of europe!! :)

I dont use much since Im pacific, I only use it in the last part of the game, and since I was getting ctd before it, I didnt notice anything lol..


And about politics, relax, in Brazil its 20 times worse, here at least people have some money and some life quality ^.-

In fact, I got a CTD twice while playing Vanilla - first was in Single Player, but I managed to advance the game by saving it and skipping the "wrong turn". The second is in my attached SaveGame - it's a chieftain difficulty, hotseat with 2 human players, the CTD occurs in my turn (no matter what I do, even if I just skip it). The game is pretty advanced - I nuked a lot od Russian Cities :D Before that I nuked and captured 2 Spanish cities and there was no CTD...

In warlords I got a CTD twice - first was with Dale's Stack attack on, exactly when Stalin attacked me. The attached SaveGame has a CTD not connected to any attack (I suppose), which occured during peace, I was playing with Dale's Stack Attack off (other Dale's options on).

Anyway I'd like to thank you, guys for such a great mod, especially for including my beloved Tactical warheads :goodjob:

I don't know anything about programming, neither about modding civ IV, but I see that almost everything is possible...

I've got a few new ideas for the mod - maybe you could consider them:

1. I saw in some other mod a tech "NATO" giving possibility to produce some units.

My idea is something like adding tech NATO, which could give the ability to build a national wonder called i.e. "NATO membership". This National wonder could give a number of national units (NATO-type units) with slightly better defence ratios... Additionaly "NATO membership" could lock all civs which built that National Wonder into a defence pacts... The NATO-type units should work as national units - only if you loose some of the given units you could produce a new one... What do you think about that ?

2. I like playing for diplomatic victory and use resolutions. I like the possibility of forcing any civic - but I noticed something strange - if I force one civic - i.e. Universal Suffrage, and it passes - all other civics dissapear (which is exactly like Fireaxis did it work). But when there's forced Universal Suffrage and I'll force another Civic of the same type (i.e. SeperatE Powers) - the Universal Suffrage remains, and additionaly SeperatE Powers apperars - so every civ has a choice between Universal Suffrage and SeperatE Powers...

My question is - is it intentional ? How in such a situation make SeperatE Powers the only possible civic ? Maybe forcing FAIL of Universal Suffrage would make Universal Suffrage dissapear ?

Another point in UN in my idea is the way it works... I mean - when you build a UN wonder ALL civs in the world automatically become members of it, what doesn't correspond to the real world...

I think it would be great to make somehow UN membership possible only for civs, which want it... I haven't got clear idea in what way yet - maybe the civ which built UN could have a possibility to "invite" other civ - like resolution voting - initially would be 2 voters - the builder of UN and the civ invited by him - and if the invited civ votes "yes" or "abstain" - it will become a member... Then could be an option (like "resolution") "invite civ" - and voting - 2 members and invited civ could vote. If invited civ votes for yes or abstain and there is a majority of members votes for yes - the invited civ would become a member. If there's no majority for "yes"along the members OR the invited civ votes "no" - it won't become a member...

I don't know if it is possible - it's just an idea...

3. Third idea is for some new units which IMHO would be useful:
- a Miner - a unit with defence similar to some infantry units - could only defend. I could have the possibility of building roads in enemy territory and protect the roads... Maybe they could place land mines somehow ? But the point is - some unit buiding road in enemy territory and defending the road for incoming units...

- a Chemical Troops - military units for removing fallout - could only defend and remove fallout in enemy territory. The point is - I nuke enemy city, and remove fallout before and/or just after capturing it...

- a Naval Mine - I saw it in some other mod - a unit invisibnle for most units - only defense - the idea is to place it on water and it hurts ships which go over it... They are visible for an unit called Minesweeper...

4. Last idea - it is in Civ More Mod, I suppose - an Advanced teraaforming.
Especially changing Land into water (digging channels) and changing impassible ice into water (ice breaking). It would be very useful - of course these actions should be very expensive and time-consuming ;)

What do you think about these 4 ideas ?

And now I know what causes that CTD - my attempt to build KV-1 (Unique Polish Tank) :D Could you check it out ?
 
keldath, the CTD bug finally hit me after all civs were at war with each other.

Looks like the 5UU latest version I was testing is no better than the V3.1 w/patch 3 for Warlords in respect to the CTD.
