I'm back fellow fanatics! :p
In honor of my return I decided to start fresh with a design thread as mine's a little cluttered with some bad designs I haven't much interest in redesigning or being associated with as they're borderline horrible. (In my opinion)

Below is my first design in a looooong time so forgive for any issues, but please do tell me how I can improve it. I can't get better without any critique ya know?

Denmark-Flag-icon.png
Modern Denmark (Margarethe II)

UA: The People's Joy -
When a Scientific building is completed in one your cities gain Golden Age :c5goldenage: points depending on your current Happiness :c5happy: output. Half of your Happiness :c5happy: output contributes to your Science :c5science: per turn. Golden Ages :c5goldenage: last +25% longer than normal.

UU: Soldat -
Replaces Infantry. For every four Happiness :c5happy: points gain +5% Combat Strength :c5strength: (Max: +30% :c5strength:). This unit may be expended to grant your civilization Golden Age :c5goldenage: points.

UB: Universitet -
Replaces the University. When a new citizen :c5citizen: is born in the city where this is built, gain a small Science :c5science: boost which increases with depending on your Happiness :c5happy: output. Once built, starts a "We Love The King Day" in the city.

Take the following with a grain of salt. What I say may sound blunt, but if it sounds so, pardon my lack of ability to adequately express. :)

Don't know much about Danish history or Margarethe II but sounds legit so so far so good.

The trait name sounds good and I like the general idea (science and happiness), but I think it is a little overweighted/cluttered compared to the traits actual civs in the game have (maybe that's what you were going for? I don't know). I would suggest merging all of the small bonuses into one larger bonus, or simplifying (for example):

- receive double golden age points for [x] turns when you complete a science building (similar to what you said)
- receive science points equivalent to 50% of your happiness (you already said this)
- science output doubled during golden ages
- golden ages last longer (you said this too)
- receive a free technology when you enter a golden age
- golden ages start 50% faster

and then I would say pick two of those that make sense together. The problem with my first bullet point is that there really aren't enough science buildings in Civ V to make this worthwhile (unless you're adding other stuff or playing with another mod).

Since 4 (happiness points) and 5 (combat strength) are pretty close together, why not just say "The Soldat gains +1% combat strength for every happiness point in your empire"? Makes more sense. :D
If would personally remove the cap at 30% or kick it up to probably 35-40%. If you wanted to keep the cap, then I would recommend doubling the combat bonus to 2%, since Civ V doesn't really make happy empires easy.

I like this one too, but I would suggest not making the science boost dependent on the happiness output. Too complicated (in my opinion). What you should do is making it based on your current science output (just like when the game determines how much free science you get when you choose "Free Technology" with your Great Scientist). Also note that "We Love The King Day" doesn't increase happiness, only speeds growth, but I'm sure you knew that (again I don't know what you're going for so I'm just shooting blindly here).

Also, you should probably find alternate names for Soldat and Universidat. I suspected that they were just "Soldier" and "University" in Danish and I referred to Google Translate for confirmation. :D If it weren't as close to English I wouldn't bring this up, but unless its a historical reference to an specific type of building (if you didn't just translate it) then I would suggest find something else, like the Hunter Corps aka Jaegerkorpset. Not only does their Danish name sound badass, but their English does too. Check these guys out:

(The second picture reminds me of one of Lord Farquaad's henchmen from Shrek)

Anyways, I didn't mean to rain on your ideas with my tirade there. Hope I helped somewhat.

Love what you're doing here and I like the idea. Maybe I went a little too deep into it with the ideas, but oh well. If you ever need feedback for stuff like this, feel free to PM me or anything; I'd be glad to help since I'm better at planning civs out than actually making them.

Keep me posted; good luck. :goodjob:

Revised the Design. :)

When a Scientific building is completed in one your cities gain Golden Age :c5goldenage: points depending on your current Happiness :c5happy: output. Half of your Happiness :c5happy: output contributes to your Science :c5science:. Population affects your Happiness :c5happy: 25% less than normal.

UU: Jaegerkorpset -
Replaces Infantry. For every Happiness :c5happy: point in you empire, gain +2% Combat Strength :c5strength:. (Max: 40%)

UB: Kollegium -
Replaces the University. When a new citizen :c5citizen: is born in the city where this is built, gain a small Science :c5science: boost which increases with the current Science :c5science: output in your civilization.

The UB and UU are pretty simple, but are also pretty effective. However, the UA is sort of over-synergetic... The first part encourages constructing science buildings, but the second one already boosts your science output based on your happiness. Additional thing you should consider here is that population brings both unhappiness and science, so focusing on the latter might greatly increase the former, as the design doesn't actually grant you happiness boosts.

I added a line into the Unique Ability to handle the Population effect on your Happiness which fits better than the Golden Age.

that's OP now... :p

Finalized the Denmark Design:

Modern Denmark (Margarethe II)

UA: The People's Joy -
Receive a bonus granting double the normal Golden Age :c5goldenage: points after the production of a Scientific :c5science: building that lasts for 5 turns. Receive Science :c5science: points equal to half of your current Happiness :c5happy: output.

UU: Jaegerkorpset -
Unlike the Infantry it replaces, the Jaegerkorpset gains +2% Combat Strength :c5strength: for each Happiness point in your empire. (Max: 30%)

UB: Kollegium -
Replaces the University. When a new citizen :c5citizen: is born in the city where this is built, gain a small Science :c5science: boost which increases with the current Science :c5science: output in your civilization.

Exactly. Good job.
