:trouble:

Since we don't have an autohost to shut us down though, where to next when Marcher flips red?

Don't say me.

Well, if MJ flips wolf we got (based on today posting mainly, too busy to recap/read again old events right now):

JohannaK - nice distancing from doomed w-MJ (?)
Topsecret - started MJ's wagon, but those posts about regret from not hammering him last vote could be some distancing as well
Timsup2nothin - good old nail on the coffin, still MJ's fate was kinda sealed before he voted

Takhisis - also on MJ's wagon (flogging a dead horse maybe, could be distancing; still, he got a nice role claim shield)
Pzelda - feels townie (based on tone and posting alone however, so dunno about a plot twist there)

--------------------------
GamezRule - Id rather have him as town for his steady MJ prosecution
Csargo - town's doc
Me

That is, I am kinda lost here.

Wew MJ. Not even trying.

I haven't changed my mind and I think MJ-Tim-GK-TS *is* where the wolves are, so I'll continue along those lines.

Tim's my fave but he's made me think and I am willing to reconsider him and even downgrade Tak into possible scum, but that's not a priority.

If you're town, I'm gonna be real sad. This just looks like scum in anti-spew mode.

This conversation may have started a little early, since there's still an interesting question left open.

I made a mistake and subbed in Marcher as "the guy who said yes he could read." Jo was sure it was wolf pis, but I myself know it was an honest mistake on my part.

When Marcher actually flips, what if he was something like, I dunno...the mason brothers were carpenters, I'm a stablehand...what other obviously illiterate slobs would be floating about? His response to having letters sent to him is sorta telling me that he took advantage of my mistake and pretended that he could read, but he maybe couldn't.

A good balance would be one town drunk letter writer (Gamez) who could even be 3P maybe, with one reader for town (Visor the priest) and one reader for scum (fill in blank).

Care to fill in the blank with whatever educated flavor role it is that gave you your demonstrated reading ability G1K, or should we wait for Marcher's flip to find out if he was actually some sort of educated toff?

Marcher's vote was an honorable appeal to end the day on a majority to prevent spew, and if @Arakhor is willing I think we should grant the request, myself. My next course of action is dependent on Marcher's flavor role.

Assuming you flip red Marcher, you played a great game and I hope you stick around...the day you were wagoned and brazenly played the "let my death inform the town" card took solid brass.

Truth be told since I bought that completely...in every other game I've played I'd have had enough town cred at that point to have defended you all the way to the win, so this is working out.

I'm a nobleman (a Sir). If MJ said the truth about being literate, then it makes sense that he is a nobleman as well, since the educated courtier and priest roles are already taken. It would be a good noble vs evil noble setup.

Thinking about that, TS is a Lord too, but an illiterate one right?

So he says. Local governor, low level type...but we can't very well prove that he can't read. It would be an interesting research project to compare when he made the illiteracy claim vs when the idea that there must be at least one literate scum came up vs when I potentially offered up a mistaken 'claim' on Marcher's behalf.

I'm not putting it past you as a Marcher scumbuddy to take advantage of such a mistake, but I most certainly wouldn't put it past TS.

But again this all goes sideways if when Marcher flips he is the 'red nobleman.'

I'm the illiterate Lord of Rattay.

Wait for the flip. Speculation is meh.

I'm not your scum, so if MJ is, I've got Tim/Tak as one of the other two.

Tak's been real quiet for himself lately.

I'm the illiterate Lord of Rattay.
I will buy this absolutely...if Marcher flips red Nobleman.

If he flips farmer turned rebel you might be in some trouble.

Just sayin'.

I'm not your scum, so if MJ is, I've got Tim/Tak as one of the other two.

Fretting that if you try to lynch me I might reactivate? Take over the thread in self defense?

I think I would appreciate getting a letter tonight.

And sorry Tim or TS, if I'm too harsh on you this game. I know you're both trying hard hard regardless of your alignment.
Jovian, fencing off wagon two days in a row is difficult and it's even more difficult in your first game.

You know how I complained that everyone had titles or jobs? I just realised that I do have a job. I'm the miller. I just thought it was my first name. :crazyeye:

No apologies needed here Pzelda. Mafia is a rough and tumble game...but it is just a game. When it's over we all laugh together.

And start afresh.

For a surprising number of people their ancestor's job became their last name. Johanna the miller became Johanna Miller and begat about half the people listed in the 'M" section of the phone book.

Make a note of that as a fun fact that makes a great icebreaker as long as no one in the room is named "Bob Hooker."

Hm, how do you create k out of miller. Maybe try to replace m with k.

Hob Booker is my name and auctions are my game.

LOL...Johanna the killer? I actually hadn't thought of that.

Man, I hope the EoD report isn't "the townspeople laughed and joked through the afternoon and then the hangman came and lynched Marcher, who was innocent, and now they all look stupid."

If Marcher's innocent, I echo Csargo's sentiment:
If you're town, I'm gonna be real sad. This just looks like scum in anti-spew mode.
