Known virtues and tooltip madness.

I've updated the Virtues Screen to include known changes to the Virtues. Thanks again to Kevin Shultz at Firaxis for the info. (Some/all of it is also available from Maddjinn's playthrough I think?)

The Knowledge tree has been slightly weakened, and now there's a new path into Tier 3 Might.

(I think Knowledge needs a boost in early game to offset the weakening of the later bonuses, and to make it a viable starter tree in more situations.)

omfg, these nerfs.

I think my future strategy has been uncovered :

Open knowledge, get and spam biowell + Creative class + Applied Aesthetics : enjoy :D ( moreover biowell can be upgraded to have +1 culture ).
The combo seemed too good :p

They nerfed Creative class? sigh...

Yeah... especially since that culture is only useful to get more virtues

(it would probably be better if it was City culture increased by % = to positive health.... ie 5 health = +5% culture in all cities, 100 health =+100% culture in all cities)

I'm of the opinion that not every tree necessarily needs to be equally viable as a starting tree, and as it currently stands Knowledge has far too many per-population and culture-from-culture policies to be practical early on. Even the prospect of just opening Foresight to simulate Rationalism doesn't look strong considering how much time people are spending negative in the LPs.

Culture from Culture policies take even longer to pay off if you get them later on, but those policies are also gateways to actually useful lategame policies (Metaresearch, Info Warfare, Technoartisans). So I can still envision Knowledge as a good 2nd tree.

It's just tough to gauge how many policies one can expect to get in a typical game atm. Does anyone know, after Artists/OER, what are the next sources of culture that one might expect to acquire?

I get the nerfs to knowledge may have been needed, but it seems like they are pushing people even more into early prosperity with how important/powerful expansion and late happiness bonuses will be..... I'm worried you will fall behind if you do not go prosperity first...... but I guess we will see.
