Welcome Softnum,

I can play later tonight team. So i'll just keep turn in order.

Mike

Plan for my round.

Bring back North fogbuster to St pete for garrison.

St pete Chop library then run 2 scientists. To try and get befroe GSpy from Moscow. Then build few units for garrison.

Moscow finish worker then go weorker>settler like kossin suggests. Settler for wine/sheep city per kossin. I like this also as it gets us some blocked land.

Tech path. Poly>PH>Monarchy. This lets us use HR and build wineries. If get mids, this will still help Chuchill grow verticially also. It's also towards feudilsim. Currency here for economy could work also.

I'll let churchill finish sailing then bump slider up and direct us both towards Poly>PH. That'll prolly end my set.

This seem good idea to all?

I haven't seen anyone mention the barb warrior running around under one of the 's's so I'll just point that out here.

Also, would the city 1N of the Wine be better 2E of the wine? It still gets the wine, interferes less with Novgorod, has the FP for growth, and catches the copper?

About barb we have TGW.

We are blocking land north with the wine/sheep city.

I'm guessing this early in the game we may want to settle him - but my habit has always been to build an academy with my first scientist in my SP games. If you haven't already made a decision about the GS, I don't know if anyone else has any comments on that too, but I would say either settle or academy. I don't think a GA would be that beneficial right now unless you are building a wonder, and I don't usually like to bulb techs this early.

Ack, sorry I missed the chance above. I had a rather hectic weekend.

Sorry I stopped playing when GS popped, I moved him to capital though. I'll just write me report up and then pass on to next player. I was 6 turns from end of turn set anyway. Report to come.

Ok Played til 1040BC.

1560BC JC converts to Hindu. Nothing much else happened here.

1520BC Sailing is in. I start teching Poly, and bump slider. Also direct Churchill to poly, it's due in 4 turns.

1480BC Whip llibrary in St Pete. DOn't know if this was optimal, but I wanted to make sure to get GS befroe GSpy.

1440BC Oracle BIDL. Alex switches to theocracy.

1400BC Chop finishes in St Pete, which was for the library, but I wanted to stop 1 turn before completion but forgot.:( It went into an archer.

1360BC Ploy is in and driect churchill to PH. It's due in 3. But only took 2 turns. 2nd worker done in moscow start on settler. St pete archer>archer. Started cottaging Novgorod. Didn't know if we wanted to or not but seemed like good idea for economy reasons.

1320BC Not much.

1280BC PH is in. Start monarchy. Directed Churchill also. Monarchy in 13.

1240BC Churchill has his settler heading east. Not much else here.

1200BC Slave event. Choose 2nd option. I never know the best option on this event. I payed 10gold. Actually took SS of this. I usually forget to.

KOS3Slaveevent0000.jpg

1160BC Whip granary in Novgorod and start on library.

1080BC GS pops in St Pete. I send to Moscow. Settler done in moscow I send him to WIne/sheep site. Start on library.

1040BC I stopped here. I Que archer ahead of library in Moscow. Figured we need defense just in case. St Pete is working on archer. Novgorod on libaray. Headed 2 workers towards Moscow to prechop some forests if we trying for Mids. They just arriving and not chopping anything yet. 2 Worker's chopping forest in novgorod to get library faster. Figured one can head to new city when its founded. Settler is in route he is between St pete and novgorod. Churchill settler is almost to copper site. Still not sure where he will settle.

Also GS in capital who still has his turn to do whatever with. Academy or settle. Monarchy is due in 6 turns. We have 70gold and losing 11 gpt.

St Pete is still running 2 scientists and next is due in 16 turns.

I also moved the marble site 1N as requested.

Screenshots of end turn.

Save,

Looks like a good set. I have the save, and will plan to play tomorrow night (so we have a chance to discuss first).

Nice one, :goodjob:

Whipping library was unnecessary by my count but it's no biggie.

1400BC Chop finishes in St Pete, which was for the library, but I wanted to stop 1 turn before completion but forgot. It went into an archer.
Get BULL... workers stop 1 turn from chop or whatever action you have them do on a forest. It doesn't interfere with save compatibility either.

Moscow: good, we need defense. I expect the AI will start sending units sooner rather than later.
St-Pete: I'd work the Horsies to churn out a couple of archers for city defense. We can always switch back to a fp before the city starves down to 3.
Novgorod: Would not have gone for library right now but a monument to pop borders... whip it ASAP... after: Barracks? Archer?

We'll want to get barracks up in St-Pete&Moscow sooner than later. Alex going Theo means 3 promotions units which will be tough nutjobs. Feudalism might be needed sooner than later... We'll need to re-evaluate once Monarchy is in. We might have time to swap in IW or Math/Currency in prior to it though. The thing that worries me is at least 3 AIs will be fielding WE since there's Ivory a bit over the map but not in our corner. IW might get us Iron to make some spears and later a few pikes.

Since we went for Monarchy, I think we should pass on the Mids. Too much hammers.

GS: settle. We're almost out of gold (keep in mind we want 40~ in bank to use for events) and we'll get another GS soon anyway.

Churchill settler: he won't settle in place for sure. Question is where... I'm really hoping for the hill but there's nothing we can do about it so no need worrying about it either.

Ya sorry about the whipping of library in St Pete. Some reason I though it would be 13 turns for GS when I started running 2. I think I was using epic speed for the turn count. I know its 13 turns on epic with Phi leader for first GS. My bad there.

Hopefully Churchill does settle on the hill there.

Ya I was going to starve in St Pete for the archer's, but I didn't know if it was best. That's why I was working both FP's. I agree though about working horses to get archers out faster. I'm thinking that someone will start sending units our way soon.

As far as GS, I think settling also would be best. Will have another GS in 16 turns for academy if we choose. When we settle our 4th city, i'm sure economy will tank. And could use the extra scince from settling him to get through currency or even feudilism if we need LB's.

Pre-turn

I switched Novgorod to work forest in order to :whip: the library sooner.

I also settled the GS, and switched to work horses for more archers. (Rather later I am looking back and wondering why I settled the GS in Moscow. I think that Moscow looks like a production city, and it would make more sense to have settled him in a commerce city.)

I also notice a number of signs that say "s" Sadly, I have no idea what these mean. :(

1000 BC
Not much

Similarly with 975 BC

950 BC
This is where things happen.

Churchill settles the hill.

St Pete: Archer -> barracks
Moscow: Archer -> barracks

I found Rostov -> Monument (for sheep)
kos3-950b-ros.jpg

925b
2-pop :whip: library in Novgorod, queue barracks

900b
Monarchy in. Revolt to HR.

Gold is extremely low, so I cut research to 0%

875b
Feudalism looks prohibitively far off: 45 turns. I inadvertently let Churchill spend a turn on IW, which may not be a problem, as we didn't really reach consensus of what we should be working on. Based on our general sentiments, I think it makes sense to start on the long slog towards feudalism. I don't feel strongly about it, though. Our economy isn't great, which makes me want Currency. Also, I would like to expand north, now that we have blocked off the territory, and city maintenance will start to be a problem. Too many things to grab. :crazyeye: So, I will half-heartedly start towards Feudalism, on the grounds that we can switch in something else.

850b
Not much.

825b
A stack from napoleon shows up on our radar.
kos3-825b-nap.jpg

I set an archer in Moscow (setting lib back a turn)

800b
Moscow: archer-> archer

775b
Wine comes online.

Moscow finishes another archer.

Stopping here, as the Napoleon/Shaka stack appears.

We have a few archers moving in that general direction, but I am unclear how much we can aid Nottingham.

Looks good, Meerk! :goodjob:

If I recall correctly, the signs with the "s" were potential spawnbusting sites, that became somewhat less than crucial once the Great Wall was completed.

Nice to see that Churchill actually settled on the hill. That should make the city more defensible. Should we send 1-2 CG or Guerrilla promoted archers down that way to assist him in holding that great location?

I would guess that fuedalism would be a solid tech now too, just to give us any kind of worthy defense. It does seem like an excruciatingly long time to get it though
