Kyp's GMR Game (open sign ups)

I should mention that I will be spending larger parts of tomorrow (tuesday) on a boat to Germany.
If the game starts before tuesday, I may be delayed for that first turn.

I didn't count, if there is spot, I would like to sign up.

Play time is as usual, after Onan. Thanks

@KYP your first post says 2 remaining, so you are not counting yourself? Lol

I normally play my turn fast, so it won't hurt to include me as the 9th.

GMT +12 here.

Main time to play is between 3:30am and 10:00am GMT, and I also check in my morning, say between 7-8pm GMT.

Not sure about earth map--won't any native civs have an advantage all alone in the Americas?
Bigger map and raging barbs sounds like...um, fun? I'm fine with classical or later start--heck even future with no VCs except domination would be fun...it will make for some instant wonder races, however, and particularly in the classical era there are some powerful wonders available right away.

Higher difficulty level would make knocking off CSs harder, immortal or even deity to make em difficult!

Islandia is usually before me in play sequence.

When are we gonna start?

So how can we figure out these times? I am USA NYC Eastern, and I can do my turns any time in the evenings.

You gotta sit down and do the math, buddy. Make a chart! :)

I'm on US west coast (UST - 8) and I can take turns most days in both the morning and evenings my time so it's pretty flexible. You generally want to pick a time zone to start and then move westward so that people are waking up/getting home from work just as someone else has taken their turn.

Ok I cheated a little bit and added eee_boy into for a total of 9 players, invite sent. Now let me work on these time zones........

Play order:

Me-GMT 12-5am
Islandia--West of me by 3hours and plays evenings like I do, this should work out well.
Onan--GMT 3:30-10am
EEE-Boy (based on onan suggestion)
Banman GMT 8am-7pm
RStartk GMT 1pm-7pm
Foffaran GMT 4-10PM
Tabernak GMT 5-8PM 6-9am
Kiffe GMT 8pm-12am

Does this look right guys? If so I will start it up tomorrow night.

Yep, looks good, for me at least, I won't speak for anyone else.

Let us know final settings, please.

Edit: only 8 players listed?

Looks great!
Funny how you managed to misspell my name twice. Guess thats what I get for being new. :p

The new guy also gets double-teamed early. Think of it as an initiation ritual. :)

So long, wonders.... Last to play, last to build wonders...

What to we do for the civ ? Total random or limited random (no india f.e.)?

Any other special rules?

I don't think that is strictly true; I am last in turn order for another GMR game, and at the end of my turn, all events fire off at once including barbarian movement, wonder building, production etc...

So for instance, everyone ahead of me knew I had built the Great Library before it actually got to my turn so it means the first player in turn order did not have an advantage over me in that build (and I assume it will still be random if two players finish on the same turn). It does affect things in fighting because everyone does get to move before you, but that's life in the GMR lanes (I am much more warlike in games where I am higher up in the turn order)!

If we begin from classical era, maybe we should exclude from random choice the civs which have UU in ancient era (like aztecs).
Because these units are already obsolute for classical era, and the player will not be able to use them for advantage.
