Spoiler :
GO BACK AND READ THE SIGN UP THREAD FULLY
that explains most of the things that are relevant.
also read this whole spoiler:
as far as the rules, I don't particularly want to come up with a whole laundry list of them, but they are pretty standard mafia rules. This mainly means:
1) no directly quoting PMs sent by the GM (that is from me). Exceptions can be made for night results if you're sharing night results with your teammates.
2) no directly quoting ANY pm in the game thread
. Rule 1 is applicable for things on quicktopics/for other private messages. No PM shall ever be posted in this thread.
3) no screen shots of anything, ever.
4) no copying chat logs in this thread. Chat logs are seen as the equal of a PM. Basically, just avoid direct quoting of anything.
CHANGES/CALRIFICATIONS FROM THE SIGN UP THREAD
1)
1) Strength based attacks: These attacks are based on the strength of the attacker/defender and any modifiers that come with it. The attacker will have the advantage:
STR > victim: full damage done; injury could occur to defendant and could be revealed
STR = victim: 66% damage done to victim, 20% to self; injury could occur to defendant and could be revealed
STR 1 less than victim: 40% done to victim, 30% to self; attacker is injured; not revealed (unless other circumstances are about)
STR 2 less than victim: 20% done to victim, 40% to self; attacker could be injured and injury could be made public (randomly generated or situationally generated).
STR 3 less than victim: attack fails; 20% done to self (no injury, as the attacker would flee upon knowing he would lose the battle). The person who would have been attacked is not notified of anything.
If a true protection occurs: attack fails, no result happens. The person who gets attacked will not be notified of anything. The protector will not necessarily get a guarantee that their protection was successful
2)I never really clarified what an injury meant--it means that you can't use an ability for 1 day and 1 night; injured people also take 133% damage.
3) lynching in the sign up thread said it would be for 25 damage. Lynching is now for a random value between 14-20 damage. It may be "true" random or there may be factors going into it.
4) although HP is out of 20 and strength is out of 10, you can have higher strength or HP than that.
ROUNDING OF DAMAGES:
I'm not going to go into decimal places for damages done. Things are rounded off; sometimes it'll be floor up (floor up means 1.01 rounds to 2), floor down, or just normal rounding based on GM's decision/if anything else is specified.
5) Item trading will occur immediately at the start of the NEXT phase. If you say "send player B my item" in the night, and someone targets you for theft that night, they can steal that item BEFORE you give it to player B. Same goes for the day.
6) There is not going to be a system of "showing" someone else your item; if someone claims an item in private, you can take their word for it or not, or otherwise use an ability such as an item scan if you have it. Also remember people may "see" items differently (example was given in the sign up thread regarding a "Freeze" ray)
7) whatever your HP was in your role PM, that is your "base" HP. Some items/abilities/damages may work as a factor of base HP. Some items may give temporary "boosts" to HP, but for calculations of those other items/abilities/damages that still can go off the base HP
8) I note that there is a "true" protection when I wrote changes from the sign-up thread up above. Some protections can be different (use your imagination--some protections can make the target take half damage, some may be like a secret service guard and take the damage instead, etc). Some protections an attack can occur through (a "true protection" stops the attack).
9) In the sign-up thread I note there are more than 1 scum faction that are not aligned, but also mention there may be serial killer(s). The sign-up thread does say that "The game is over when either a Scum Factions have achieved their victory conditions or when all The Scum factions are elimated." So, serial killers may or may not be aligned with the scum factions. This also applies to just townie (red) factions who have other victory conditions asides from eliminating the scum factions--they can achieve partial victory but not full victory in that instance.
10) just a reminder that strength based attacks are not the only method of attacks in this game
ORDER OF ACTIONS
The order of actions are as followed in the night
1) healing. all healing or strength boosting or decreasing in the night happens first. This can be either ability based or item based.
2) roleblocking/protecting
3) attacks. Typically the scum get to attack first. Normally ability attacks will occur before item attacks.
4) use of some items (let's say you have a scanning item; you can use it before it gets stolen from you UNLESS it was stolen by something from 1-3)
5) theft of items. Some thieves are "better" than others and can steal first. Some thefts make occur concurrently with a attack, so that thieving action takes place before other thieves. This means that sometimes, a thief who DIDNT have an item can steal an item from someone else, then potentially get that item stolen from him IN THE SAME NIGHT
typically, if you try to steal from someone who dies in the night, their item will just go up for vote. No grave robbing for the most part.
6) use of some other items
that's off the top of my head, and I reserve the right to not follow that order at any time I wish; it won't be arbitrary, but I'm sure there will be at least 1 freaky like 4 way action (somebody attacks somebody who thieves some item from someone who scans but a thief tries to steal from a now dead person's body)
FORMAT OF PMS
please use the tag [Archetype mafia] Day/Night X for orders given to the GM. Orders should be sent by PM, but I will be reading quicktopics if applicable.
Please also try to specify who you are and what you are doing (Specifically) when giving a PM. It saves time as I am not going to be perfectly familiar with exactly who you are, and I don't want someone to PM me to "scan person Y" when they don't actually have a scan ability.
Also, with items in the game, people are going to eventually get multiple items. Let's say you have an ability to do a faction scan, but you also have an item to do a strength scan (and, as would probably be the case, you could only do 1 action of those). If you send me a PM to "scan person X" I don't know which scan you intend to use.
Same thing with other items. If you have a gun with 6 bullets in it and a freeze ray--both of which could give minor attacks--and you say "I attack person X" I don't know what weapon you are using.
The town awoke to find the dead body of Kennigit.
On his body, they found a shiny blue ring that was up for vote!
In his lifeless hands, they found an even more interesting caduceus
They also found a Box that was unopened. It did have a small note on top that said "PRIZED SEA TREASURE"
They investigated Kennigit's house and someone thought he had a nice gillette razor
Vote for someone to lynch in bold!
Vote for ring in blue!
vote for caduceus in red!
vote for box in some form of Gray
vote for razor orange!
Day 1 ends in 72 hours, around 9:00 or 10:00 EDT!
To lynch someone today, 6 votes are needed on that person! All other days it's just plurality vote!
that explains most of the things that are relevant.
