Just finished my first full game in using the windows version of CivV and Steam via Crossover. Performance was significantly better than the native Mac version, and although having to play with some settings on low or minimum to keep it stable, it was all in all a much better experience.

Then I downloaded the Korea, Babylon and Ancient World packs from Steam. Now it doesn't load. I'm getting the "Civ V has encountered a problem and needs to close" error box immediately after the "Preparing to launch Civ V" box. Tried deleting the config.ini files, etc (which has worked for me before). Tried reinstalling C++ 2008. No change. Not sure how to uninstall the extra downloads or if that would even fix it.

Has anyone had this problem before? I'm not too keen on reinstalling the whole thing (ANOTHER 5 gig download!!) but if it fixes it, I guess I'll have to. Any suggestions?

The DLC packs are stored in a folder on the PC. On my (non-Crossover) Windows XP system they are in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v\assets\DLC.

If you remove the DLC packs, the game should load without them, though I can't really see why they should cause the game to crash, assuming you have the latest version of Civ5.
