Left For Dead

No, but why do it when you can make people buy two copies of the same game?

Understandable. But c'mon! I still don't think there is anything quite as fun in gaming as multiplayer in a single room with a bunch of friends.

Recommend picking up L4D2 as a companion. I haven't played L4D2 in about 8 months.

"decent split screen" was a problem when most American children owned crappy 20-30" CRTs. Nowadays most middle class American households have high definition bigscreen plasmas or lcds. I don't think developing a split screen should be a problem. Call me old school I guess.

It's not as easy as just splitting the screen in two. It requires a bit of modulating of the graphics settings for most games if I remember well. If you boot Left 4 Dead on an XBOX for instance, and you play it in single player vs multi player, you will probably notice slightly uglier graphics or something of the sort, I remember that much from my stint with it. That's just an example of an adjustment that needs to be done. So, yeah, it requires a bit of work. A bit.

Ah split screen.

Fond memories of gloating about my mighty PC to my console friends. ( I also had an n64, I'm only human and couldn't be expected to miss Mario64 even as a PC fanboy )

L4D and L4D2 are simple games, but it does not need to be complex to be enjoyable. I love playing co-op with my friends from time to time. I hope they will come out with L4D3, but so far there has been no indication of it in the past 4 years.

It'll come out at the same time as Half-Life 3 and Team Fortress 3.

That would rival the orange box. Seriously thats the best bundle i have ever seen: Half life 2 + all episodes, Team Fortress 2, Counterstrike source and portal.

L4D is one of the better co-op games. I don't know how people manage to rack up thousands of hours on it, but I've put in over 100* and that is quite a bit since FPS games are one of my least favorite genres. I think the last FPS game I really got into was Goldeneye 64? Halo/CoD etc. never caught my interest.

*prolly would be more but only got the game in 2012, well after the initial release.

I can relate. Hey I had the medal for people who played in the early beta. Those were the days. Now there are too many guns and effects and random things and glitter that pop up everywhere. I haven't really played in almost 2 years.

You could try playing on a server that disables unlocks and cosmetics.
