Does anyone know how Aztec builders work to speed up production of districts? How much production do builders give to district productions? Is it a definitive number or some percentage?

Can confirm it's 20% or 1/5 of district cost regardless of era. That means you bypass inflated costs etc.

Thanks everyone. That is very helpful!

Actually started my first TSL Aztec game yesterday. Having very few enemies around, I smacked cities and districkets all over the place and can confirm it's 20% of the production cost of the discrict when building started. so your 25th Holy site still costs you only a builder or two to complete, depending on any worker bonuses you might have.

This completely snowballs out of control, by the way...

It definitely is a fun way to start a game! Getting all those extra builders while destroying civs with eagle warriors is very satisfying.

Yes, indeed. I didn't expect it to be so fun, since I don't tend to like aggressive civs. I went for a religious-expansionist build. 2 areas I rarely dabble in, cause I often feel uncertain about how to target my religious choices. This works quite well though. Here's how the game went, if you're interested:

Map: TSL 'greatest earth map' (Modded, scalable version of TSL Earth.)
Size: Large
Civs: Player(Aztec)+20 random civs (including USA, Brazil and Taino (Mod civ. 2 reasons: America based and leader art is pleasing to look at.)
Difficulty: Emperor

Government:
Oligarchy - works really nicely with the +attack/luxury bonus of Eagle warriors, creating ancient era units with strength up to 40+ that enslave workers!
Monarchy: This was a mistake in hindsight. Went for the + GPP cause of the prospect of many districts, but since Russia and Brazil turned out to be in the game, I still have to spend more faith/gold than I like to on key great people.
Theocracy: This is where things went crazy. Spamming bombards and musketmen to overrun USA.

Pantheon:
Divine Spark +1 Great Person point from Holy Site (Prophet), Campus (Scientist), and Theater Square (Writer) districts. - Since I expected to have many, many districts, this bonus is quite big on the long run.

Religion:
Warrior Monks: Allows spending Faith to train Warrior Monks, medieval land combat units with a unique promotion tree. May only be purchased in a city with a Temple in its Holy Site. - Faith sink for expanding even faster
Mosque: +3 Faith; Missionaries and Apostles +1 Spread Religion charge - together with holy order, makes religious spread cheap and fast, since I expected to have a lot of cities that I wanted to convert quickly to get more mosques to get more faith to get more monks :P
Tithe: +1 Gold for every 4 followers of this Religion - help support builder spam for districts
Holy Order: Missionaries and Apostles are 30% cheaper to Purchase. - see Mosque

---------------
Began the game with 2 turns of settler movement cause I spotted Piopiotahi nearby (random Wonder placement), which as an additional bonus, turned out to completely cut me off from land routes to South America. This let me concentrate on annoying USA, running my eagle-warriors up to Washington, stealing 2 settlers and capturing Los Angeles and pressuring them every time there were signs they wanted to re-attempt expanding.

Currently I am around turn 200 (i think), just entered renaissance and I'm far ahead of second place in Science. 14 cities in a string from real world Panama to Texas to Chicago, just captured New York and effectively 2 or 3 turns away from capturing Washington. This will leave only a handful of 2-4 pop USA cities left to mop up. This will leave me the sole occupant of North/Central America.

Not sure where to focus from this point. Focus on trade, science, culture? Or do I continue expanding forcefully to Europe, maybe colonize Africa, where only Nubia, Spain and Arabia sem to have settled. The south being completely open. Alternatively, I can turn my attention to Brazil, though them and Taino have been at war since the dawn of time, so they keep each other occupied.

Yields:
GPT: around 100
FPT: around 150
SPT: around 95
CPT: around 80
