Leoreth Condemnation Thread

Worst person ever, asking for even an ounce of respect in return is too much for this awful person. I've never seen a person this much egocentric and condescending ever before. More than a decade of being the center of attention from many people clearly played the role in him becoming a morally corrupt person who believes that everyone around himself has to be convenient for him and that he never has to play his part in return.

You spend all the time to praise him and his work, you change your texting style and do everything for his own convenience, doing your part on playtesting bugs, and this is how he returns it. You do not owe anyone your time, however what you and everyone myself included should owe everyone around is the basic respect. I had always been giving you all the time, space and respect that you ever needed. I didn't deserve even an ounce of this horrible atitude putting me into much distress after following your work for several years.

Go ahead, ridicule and scapegoat me all you want, however I won't be silent, after having spent years onto playing your mod, only to see them having been turned into a waste, just because you couldn't stand someone noting that you should also be respectful to others in return, just as much as people pay respect to you. Look into the mirror before talking of someone's "behavior" like a wannabe parent figure, you'll not be compensating your superiority complex at my expense like this.

^ What part of this do you not understand? His mod, his decision. You are basically imposing the change onto him. If you want to have it so bad, study and learn the code, and make the changes yourself.

Free speech let's people say and write all sorts of things. As much as he is not obligated to to play the mod, the same way I'm not obligated to read his post (so I stopped after the first paragraph).

His venting the steam had one positive effect though: I was looking for some forum to tell the whole world how pissed I am about my city's public transportation and how bad it is blah blah blah.
But this just stopped me from acting stupid, so thanks

Well maybe it's all in vain at this point, but let me try to be a sort of mediator and cool things off here. I'm someone who believes that most disagreements come from a lack of communication, and not understanding the other person.

I believe that I understand your point, about how you lose a turn in between civ-switches. But with the way civ-switching used to work, when you would switch into a new civilization, sometimes it would switch you a turn later, and you wouldn't have control over the new civilization for it's first turn, leading to the AI doing your first turn for you. No bueno. So this was an issue that Leoreth had fixed in the past, and this is probably what he thought you were referring to.

So it is very possible that you and Leoreth were talking past each other in the beginning, a little bit.

As for what happened after that initial disagreement... Look. At the end of the day, this mod is his passion project, and if he doesn't want to change something, then perhaps that thing doesn't align with his vision for the mod, or he doesn't think it's worth the effort to change the thing in the first place. After all, he does have many things on his to-do list, and again, this is his passion project.

One last thing, cultural differences. Leoreth is German, and Germans are sort of known for being rather cut and dry with their responses, and being blunt and straightforward with how they communicate. I don't know where you're from, but if you're from America like I am, I can see how this direct-to-the-pointness may come off as rude. But I don't think you should take it negatively. Also, the Leoreth Appreciation Thread was started and continued by the people who appreciate his work on his mod, not by the man himself.

Anyways, I'm not wanting to get too involved here, it doesn't concern me, I just thought those things needed to be said.

Oh, it's small little Debrecen in Hungary.
Actually it's the second largest city in Hungary with a population of 202,402.
I was surprised to see that Miami is of somewhat similar size with 442,241.
Philadelphia on the other hand is much bigger with a population of 1.6 million.
So my initial thought is that if public transportation doesn't work in a huge city... Well, it's hard to connect everything with everything. I know from experience: I played Cities Skylines too
But in a smaller city?? Why??
Surprisingly, Budapest with a population of 1.7 million has a very good public transportation network.

I was surprised to see that Miami is of somewhat similar size with 442,241.

Miami Metro is 6.46 million residents, and American governing efficiency relies on splitting them between various municipalities (34 in total). Many of of them get a free trolley (which is nice), but if you want to take a city bus from bedroom community to somewhere else -- it may take you 2-3 hours.
