Let's Play Civ 5 (YouTube Playthrough)

That's why I said, it usually does, because there are always exceptions to the rules. The English language seems to have more exceptions than rules. For instance, we pronounce separated with only the 2nd a as long, the e and 1st a as short. Texas, of course, is a short e.

Texas if a good place to see regional accent differences. North Texas and south Texas have distinctly different accents.

Also granary is pronounced with a long A because it holds grains not grans.

Well in British English it's pronounced with a short 'a'.

Your logic is also very poor; why would it be spelt "granary" instead of "grainary".

Apparently you missed my later post where I pointed out that part you quoted was a joke, not logic.

Guilty as charged

I watched a bunch of your Babylon LP vids earlier today. Shortly prior to finding your vids, I watched another LP video, and that commentator had an incredibly deadpan tone and poor command of English, so yours was a marked improvement! I ended up watching 11 eps of your series back to back... that's over 2 hours, isn't it? That should give you an idea of how much I enjoyed them. After that I got on Steam and downloaded the demo.

Thanks.
