Why are there so few picture lets play of civ5? There are tons of civ4 lets play, I loved to read them at work when I have spare time.
But in civ5 there are just some video LPs, which I can't watch at work, and stories. I don't really like RP stories, I like the civ4 ones which are more about the game, even if they are told a bit RPish. But in civ5 the stories are not really games, just stories.

It's sad for my free time at work.

Why are there so few picture lets play of civ5?

Because most let's play's nowadays are made in video?
5/6/7 years ago it was easier to upload an image, now it's just as easy (or even easier) to upload a video

Personally I also enjoy video LP's more, I learn more from them than image LP's.

But there still are some image LP's, have a look at the Civ5 - Stories & Let's Plays-forum.
The onese with the prefix [LP] are most image-Let's Plays. These for instance:
[LP] Rise of Sumeria
[LP] The Height of Level 9 - Songhai, Asia map, mod Marathon, mod difficulty
[LP] Napoleonic Charm

Maybe you can contact the IT-department and ask if they can fix it for you so you can watch video's?

Thanks for the effort. I had just read the Rise of SUmeria, Ill take a look at the other 2.

One advantage of picture LPs compared to video ones is that they were played by the community, or with the help of the community. There was a discussion on where to settle, what to research and such. It was pretty fun.

I like pictures ones more too; it's easier to absorb them quickly than it is to skip through a video LP, no dead air, no LPer getting interrupted, LPer has time to make witty comments, etc. Thanks for the links!

the videos are nice so you can see individual movements and everything but it is literally watching another game in real time and we all know most standard games are in the 7-8+ hour range. that's like a season of a tv show. i can skim the picture ones for time reasons but i also miss out on a ton of useful info.

its give and take on both accounts. i dont have to worry about work filters though.

I so much miss the Succession Games, Civ4 killed it, Civ5 burnt the ashes.
