Lets set up a PBEM!

If no 8th player shows up we could ask Adhesive if he'd like to play France/China. As we know from last pbem there are 6 MUST positions.

Having no south american player just means one of two things:

a) the USA has to conquer/controll south america to make sure nobody else starts playing in its backyard

b) the USA can't commit forces in the eurasien theatre till it has full controll over all of the americas.

Leaving south america "as is" is a severe security risk for the USA.

Still I think a french/chinese player is SIGNIFICANTLY more important then me getting either a friendly and helpfull sidekick (prefered by me of course) or a punching ball that will only delay the inevitable.

I'd play France/ China too, although seeing what's happened in the previous game I wouldn't be immensely looking forward to it. lol. Would be interesting though.

Alternatively France could partner UK? China with US?

I just read through again our emails and this thread to check our preference for playing which team. Basically, we are mostly happy with the original setting.

So:

(2) Fandazma: Japan, Manchuria, Thailand - 3 civ
(3) Ace of Spades: Turkey, Egypt, Arabia, Iraq, Iran - 5 civ
(4) Dazz_G: Russia, Mongolia, Communist China - 3 civ
(5) Genghis_Kai: Nationalist China, France, Netherlands, Greece - 4 civ
(6) Borgg: Britain, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand - 4 civ
(7) Bastian-Bux: Canada, America, Mexico - 3 civ
(8) Adhesive86: Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Chile - 5 civ
Neutral states: Finland, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Portugal, Nepal

Martin, would you mind trying the Germany team? I am sure you are more than capable for the biggest aggressor in the game Then we just need to find one more for the Middle east team, and if we can't find one, just leave it for AI.
If you wish, you can also try the French team, and I can be Germany again.

If Enigma was compromised so early in RL then I guess there can really be no argument over whether espionage should be in the game or not.

I'm happy to remove my objection to it being included.

Guess i'll just have to brush up on the espionage side of the game.

You are welcome to choose the S. American team or the France/China team The teams groupings are already arranged sequentially in the game so it is not going to be rearranged.

Nov 1940, the Germans finally landed on UK.

Unfortunately, I can only manage to grab half of UK in the turn. This is only half of what was planned because of the Italian fleet incident.

Otherwise, it would be more spectacular!

OK. I am planning to launch the official v5.3 release tonight. I haven't really received much feedback for the beta version, but there are still some minor changes. We can all reinstall it and start the new game.
