Liberism didn't work!

I am the first to discover Liberism, and a window appear to let me choose a free tech. But whatever tech I chose, I counld't get anything, and a message appear "you have already chosen your free tech(s)". So actually what is happening? Is it a bug?

At a Guess, your on a Beeline to a much later tech, say 10 down the tech tree.

You've auto selected 10 techs to research in a row, and once you hit liberalism, it gave you your beeline tech next in line as your free tech.

that, or you just accidentally hit the tech choice, at the nanosecond that it appeared on your screen.
