Vejle and Riga fall! Russia and Prussia agree peace terms. Advance units of imperial guard are mauled by forces defending the Seigfried line. Men of Prussia answer the call to arms!

25th May 1806
Riga was today stormed by the massed guns and curiasser regiments of Prussia. The assault marked the final action in a five year 'police action' by Prussia. The defenders were demoralized by a massive artillery barrage before a detrmined assault overan their defences.

Following the fall of Prussia's ultimate objective in this area peace was concluded with the Czar. It is hoped that the end of fighting here will lead to a prolonged period of peaceful relations between the Kaiser and the Czar.

30th May 1806
After a brief bombardment Gerhardt von Schanhorsts forces led a successful assault on the city of Vejle. The result was never in question as the defenders were quickly overrun by Scharnhorst's battle hardened troops. Several regiments showed exceptional valor in this engagement and will no doubt enjoy the liberation celebrations planned by the grateful populace.

The perseverence of Prussia has resulted in redrawing the national boundaries.

Rumors of a substantial French force advancing on Frankfurt caused many Prussian cities to call their young men to aid the Kaiser in his struggle against the despot Napoleon. Their blood may have been stired by news of Imperial Guard being repulsed by the fortifications of the Siegfried line

In the Kings absence, we have news of the best possible kind.

Pamplona Liberated!

The battle started on the 13th May, with cannon fire of an intensity never before seen in these parts. Cannon shot rained down for four day's and left the defending forces in tatters, and the people desperate for relief.

Relief came on the 17th. In the Battle of Pamplona (May 1806), the french honour list is as follows:

Conscript voltgier destroyed by Household Cavalry
(Veteran?) Voltgier destroyed by Household Cavalry
4x Imperial Cavalry destroyed by Lifeguards
2x Imperial Cavalry destoryed by Household Cavalry

In what is probably the biggest battle in mainland Spain in modern times, the forces of freedom prevailed.

The British command have now taken residence in the town:

The French are hanging on to their Spanish possessions by their fingernails. We are working with the Spanish to help them take the remaining city under French occupation.

Ottoman Allies Declare War on Prussia!!

Kaiser Franz II, after hearing the news of the Ottoman treaty with France was overheard to say, "My poor germanic brothers will have Austria at war yet. But Austria's fate is at Moscow."

Prussian peace with Russia has also put a rumored drive on Moscow as the most likely target of a 3rd Russian Winter Campaign. Word from Tula has Fieldmarshals Fritz von Salzburg und Kiev, with a fresh army, & Konrad Valentin von Kaim with a massive amount of cannons meeting up with Fieldmarshal Karl Philippe there. Could there be a Christmas in Moscow?

Austria has been given leave to send a Military Observer to the Frankfurt area.

French and Prussian forces converge on Frankfurt
A massive French force is headed towarrd Frankfurt, fortifications on the Seigfried line continue to pound the French columns continuing to inflict casulties amongst the French guard units.
Military observers believe the forces to be evenly matched and the inhabitants of Frankfurt have already started to flee. Reinforcements continue to pour into the area from all directions.

The world holds it's breath as it prepares to witness the fate of the heroic defenders of Frankfurt.

our spies so the prussians to be engaging in a vast propaganda operation, as the people seem quite unafraid.

the country side is a different matter.
our spies report massive discontent with the prussian military pose.
most are fleeing west towards the french saviours.

when asked, the peasants report atrocities by prussian cavalry, robbing them of their winter stock piles of food, burning and pillaging

Huskvana Liberated

Brave lifeguards today moved in and took Huskvana for the Swedish people. It is now hoped that the Swedish government will step down and the towns can be returned.

If the Swedish continue to oppress the people, we shall be forced to take further action. His Majesty would also like to stress that rumours linking the liberation of the towns with Sweden's past transgressions against the Royal Navy are unsubstanciated and completely without merit.

He would also like to thank Parliament and the Prince Regent for keeping the ship steady over the past few months.

Austrian War Report.

Austrian Grand Army Reaches Gates of Moscow!!!
The 3rd Russian Winter Campaign Has Begun.

Reports from Tula confirm that a Austrian Grand Army, lead by Fieldmarshal Prinz Karl Philippe von Schwarzenberg has reached the gates of Moscow. The Russians must believe that the walls of Moscow are undestructable. The only Russian reponse was to move a guard unit to the forest northwest of Moscow. The battle of Moscow will most likely either make or break Austria as a force in the east.

Independent Hussars pillaged farms and raided fur supplies southwest of Moscow. Roads have also been destoryed in these areas.

Bombardment of the Imperial Guard continues as Napoleon's grande armée stand before the mighty fortress city of Frankfurt. This news has been received well by the people of Vejle forcing martial law to be declared until such time as the city's governor feels appropriate.

Meanwhile dedicated volunteers from 'Kaisersfestung' have slipped behind the French forces and attacked supply columns carrying supplies bound for the invaders. Baron von Bombast has termed these operations as Bandenkämpfer Krieg. The soliders carrying out these operations being considered military in only the loosest sense.

With his forces far from home and supplies cut it is no wonder French troops have reverted to the level of mere barbarians, carrying out acts of depravity that cannot be told of here for the sake of decency.

the french have also continued fortifying the danish holding, in preparation of a breakout.
we will free Velje, which the occupation farces have left in riots.
to do this speedily we have commisioned a new army led by Naopleons very own nephew - louis.

Moscow Falls!!
Battle of Moscow 2nd-4th October 1806 AD
Austrians now look at St. Petersburg.

The Austrian Grand Army, lead by Fieldmarshal Prinz Karl Philippe von Schwarzenberg have taken the Russian city of Moscow following heavy bombardment by Austrian Grand Batteries. The Russians counterattacked but were routed by Fieldmarshal Konrad Valentin von Kaim. A 2nd Russian Guards army of at least 6 guards regiments is northwest of Austrian Moscow.

Frankfurt Defiant!
The Mayor of Frankfurt while 'moved' by the respect of the enemy would rather they take their soldiers home though if they choose to surrender their cannon he would arrange for medals to be minted from their scrap metal. The Prussian secretary for war dismissed French estimates of casulties as inflated he did however report that 3 Imperial cavalry regiments were effectively destroyed in the assault along with two infantry regiments. Many of the heroic defenders have recieved battlefield commisions for their efforts in this engagement. He offers a truce so that the enemy can recover their dead estimated at over 17,000. Casulties amongst the defenders and civillians are not known but are believed to be at least as high.
A safe refuge has now been constructed for the defenders of the city to be evacuated to should the French launch renewed assaults.

French relief column ambushed by Frankfurt volunteers
A french army column was ambushed by volunteers carrying out operations against the French supply trains, it is believed the forces bound for Frankfurt will be much depleted before they can join their countrymen.

Scharnhorst marches West
Gerhardt von Scharnhorst is leading a substantial army towards the French occupied city of Amsterdam he has been joined by veterans of the sucessful attack on Vejle. This news can only dampen hopes French citizens of that town had for the tricolor to fly again over their city.

Reports of war between Prussia and the Ottoman empire have been dismissed as French mischief. Indeed the Ottomans are enforcing a Prussian led blockade of French goods and are engaged in a struggle against Russia at this time.

Prussian Navy in action against the Swedish navy
A number of Prussian ships were in action against a suspected Swedish invasion attempt of the Baltic shore. Despite heavy losses the action was deemed a success.

War with Spain!

It is with a heavy heart that the King must announce that negotiations over the future of the Iberian penninsula have broken down. The Spanish reluctance to launch an attack on France, failure to provide enough fine horses, as well as questioning the tactics of the King have lead to this unfortunate set of events.

French troops were also seen within Spanish territory leading to other unfortunate questions for which the Spanish could not provide a satisfactory answer.

Already Sevilla has fallen.

There has also been a large battle at sea, the Battle of Gibralter, 12th Nov 1806, where three Spanish frigates were sunk or captured, and one frigate and a man o war of the Royal Navy were unfortunately lost.

In the Battle for Sevilla, 2nd Nov 1806, four units of the Spanish finest were over run without loss by our brave Life Guards.

In related news, The Times has run a peice questioning the King's decision making, and there are calls for the reinstatement of the Prince Regent. There are also suggestions that this is largely motivated by revenge for previous Spanish attacks against the British (and allies) in the area.
