Message from George III, by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France,
SPAIN and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, etc. and Elector of Hannover.
Greetings to his Royal subjects.
Today, 28th November 1808, we can announce that after long fighting, that although away from the headlines, was brutal on both sides,
Stockholm has finally fallen. During that time, the city has fallen from a 12 to a 6, but it has finally been taken. Four units of Swedish Muskets fought to the end, but it was ultimately in vain.
Although the
Swedish government refuse to surrender, and allow a transition to a government supported by the people, the
British will continue to push the offensive in
Sweden.
A Swedish transport was also sunk in the North Sea.
There was also fierce fighting in
France. A unit of French Musketeer's was destroyed after heavy bombardment in Marsellies, however two units of
British Lifeguards were rendered inoperable during the battle. The
Siege of Marsellies continues.
A unit of
French Imperial Guard north east of
Bordeaux was also destroyed.
Perhaps the biggest news however is the capture of
Barcelona. The last reminants of the Spanish army were 1 unit of cavalry, and 7 units of Soldido. None survived.
Spain is now
liberated, and celebrations ring out across the land as the
Peninsula Campaign comes to an successful end.
Long Live the King!
