Message from George III, by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France, Spain, and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, etc. and Elector of Hannover.
The work, of the
brave men of this land is almost done. Today we can announce that
Bordeaux has capitulated to free forces.
Casualites were high. 2 units of Imperial Guard, 1 voltgier, 2 musketmen, and one unit of Imperial Cavalry. British losses were 1 unit of Lifeguards. Unfortunately, our gunners got slightly carried away during the early stages of fighting, but the town has now fallen.
In surrounding areas, units of
French Imperial Guard were knocked out south of Bordeaux, north of Marseilles, and east of Montuban (this was a rather unfortunate incident where we needlessly lost two units of
Household Cavalry. The commander has since been replaced (don't select a stack, and then tell the entire stack to attack by accident!!)).
The taking out of those French units was particularly important because it opened the roads between France and Spain, allowing
redcoats to pour across.
Also, a Swedish transport making a run for the North sea was intercepted and sunk.
Spain has learnt the lesson, that
if you play with matches, you will get burnt. France and Sweden are still being taught. The British will not be brow-beaten by aggression, and will extract revenge. Even if we have to wait. There is yet one more partner in the Axis of Evil, who has rode our lands, fightened our people, and destroyed our crops. Their day is yet to come.
God Save the King!
Oh, some more Iron Maiden lyrics, particularly apt for the French at this point:
Im waiting in my cold cell when the bell begins to chime
Reflecting on my past life and it doesnt have much time
Cos at 5 oclock they take me to the gallows pole
The sands of time for me are running low
When the priest comes to read me the last rites
I take a look through the bars at the last sights
Of a world that has gone very wrong for me
