The Prussians consider themselves a cultured and peaceful people, yet foreign powers seem to mistake this for an invitation to flout our borders. Demands to Russia for her cossacks to leave our lands have been unsucessful at removing their prescence.
Kaiser Wilhelm II has ordered a review of Prussia's naval defences in the Baltic. Such news will likely been seen with mixed emotions in Sweden (who have a MPP with Prussia as well as trading links) as they consider themselves the naval police of this region.
The ministry of the interior has also released plans for a new university in the city of Frankfurt, this would been seen as firmly establishing Prussia to be more scientific than militartistic.

Just advanced warning, my second kid is due to be born at some point over the next couple of weeks (well expected to be!!), so if I disappear for a day or so, that will be why.

Shouldn't have too much effect because I only play two PBEM's so I should still be able to squeeze them in, but I might be kind of busy.

I think the Royal Navy was so good because they could fire significantly faster than the French/Spanish navies. Not just a ratio of say 9/8, but something like 3/2 even. So a big advantage. I think this is partly due to the fact that the crew of Royal Navy ships were also at sea longer than their contempories so were more experienced, plus they trained more and harder.

Plus Nelson just had huge gonads His tactics at Trafalger were consider almost suicidal, and just not the way battles at sea were fought.

We are in a locked war, but King George III is always ready to entertain a visit from Napoleon, as long as he remembers to kneel.

In realiy, Great Britain and France were at almost continual war for the entire period (apart from a few months in 1803 or something), so it is fairly realistic.

However if I guess correctly, there is a historical basis for doing what you need to do, to get out of your current predicament oh Emperor.

Minister for home affairs announces Public Works programme
The Prussian minister for home affairs today announced that the ongoing public works programme was being stepped up. "All parts of the country will see the benefits of the programme both economic and defensive.
Meanwhile relations with Russia have worsened with the news of a build up of cossacks on Prussia's most easterly border. The foreign minister told journalists that Prussia had given up issuing fruitless warnings to the Czar and that such behaviour would not only damage trade between our two nations but could only result in one outcome. He would not elaborate on what this outcome might be. However sources in the foreign ministry said a momentous announcement was imminent.

all is quite on the western front, though the brits may find something new in the sunny Italy.

Austrian War Report

The game of chess between Austria and Russia continued not only along the Austrian-Russian border, but the Austrian-Prussian border as well.

1.The 1st Lvov Hussars crossed into Russia east of Kiev.
2.The 1st Warsaw Hussars moved NE to cover the movement of 2 Russian cossacks. Which were effectively stopped at the Prussian-Austrian border.

How goes the peace talks?

Prussia Invaded?
Citizens of Konigsberg alarmed!!!
A large body of Russian cossacks have been reported as crossing into Prussia. Estimates vary as to the exact size of this force but it may number as many as 50,000 men with further forces seen near the eastern border. All of which is in addition to the cossacks that have now moved north of Posen.
Defence officials denied they were uprepared for the incursion and that moves were underway to resolve the situation by peaceful means if possible. Officals were careful to avoid calling this action an invasion saying that an invasion would require actual fighting and damage to life and property to have taken place.
The Foreign minister said he was outraged at Russia's flagarant disregard for Prussia's sovereignty and called upon those who would uphold the rule of international law to send a clear signal to the czar that this behaviour could not be allowed to continue.

Libenstraum
Ministry for information and statistics reveals growth expected in no less than 5 Prussian cities by July-August 1801. This will come as no surprise to the citizens of Frankfurt which has recently increased it's municiple boundries sparking a crisis with the French speaking locals. Talks between France and Prussia are scheduled to clarify the situation.

Kaiser launches new Warship
Kaiser Wilhelm launched Prussia's first purpose built Baltic warship. The Konigsberg will patrol the seas around Konigsberg looking for signs of illegal activity.
