Can you only tell if an independent settlement is friendly if you can see a unit? if I move my cursor over a soldier I can see friendly or hostile but if I move it over the settlement or click on it I cant tell, or can I?

Has anyone noticed that the costs for banker are not correct when going for economic victory? I was just doing this victory path and it was saying I was a bit short on cash but only a turns worth. Pressed next turn, had the correct amount of cash and then spent it...only to have $1,000 left. It seems that the game adjusts price for relation, but then it only costs you the same amount (~$3000) even then.

I just completed that victory path last night. I ended up with a squeeze on influence, having to wait a few turns in each capital to let my influence build back up. I wonder if the costs are linked to your relationship with the leader/civ? Coincidentally, the last few civs I needed to visit were super-hostile (-90). Perhaps the influence cost goes up if you have a bad relationship? Yes, I did notice differing gold costs, for different capitals.
I would have, but it's the Modern age. All of the sources of quinine I can see already have a settlement next to them, usually planted in an earlier age. Even the AI in Distant Lands have been pretty good about filling up the hexes.
Anyone know if the Mayan Jaguar trap stays effective for multiple units or is a one shot deal?
And has that bug that prevents later building on the spot been corrected?

I can't establish a trade route to a less than 10hex distant city (antiquity), several mountains around, but my traders can find a path if prompted to.
There are 2 active volcanoes next to the passage - are they blocking the establishment of a trade route?
Has anybody used the Reincarnation belief? It is supposed to give +2 science per every Tropical tile in converted other Civs' settlements, but apart from +25 one-off gold upon conversion I see no other effect. Shamanism for +2 culture works as described, for example. I suspect a bug.
I am looking through the files and deciphering all of the events and for some reason no files for Good Doctor show up in modern... for base civs at least
I checked the files for Britain and there is an event for Rizal if he meets them so I do not know what is going on
In the diplomatic screen, how do we get things like Cultural Exchange or Scientific exchange? Is there a specific trigger? I played Ada in one game and was able to offer these endeavors to other civs, but in recent games they don't appear whatsoever. Played through the entirety of Antiquity as Amina and never got a chance to propose either.

The endeavors that you have access to depend on your leader's attributes. Lovelace is Scientific/Cultural, and so she gets the endeavors that you saw playing as her. Amina, on the other hand, is Militaristic/Economic, so she has the endeavors relevant to those attributes instead. Military Aid is one, don't know the money one off the top of my head.

I done it before to great effect, though of the 14+ times I converted various cities, one time I thought my science didn’t update, until the city was converted again and I converted it back.
