Little questions & answers thread

Some ideas:
- you are playing a civ that has a unique commander that starts with a specific promotion (Persia, Rome).
- you are playing a civ that gets a free promotion in their civics (Spain, France, maybe more), specific or not.
- you are playing a leader that gives free promotions (Trung Trac has 3 promotions to your first commander).
- you've built a wonder that gives you a free promotion (Terracotta Army?).
None of these are the case. Like I said, it will be a commander during a war that gains a promotion. I use said promotion and then it says I have another one. I can't be only one to experience this? Not complaining just trying to figure out how to know when it happens.

Maybe a quest, like take an Independant? You get xp from the unit kill, xp from the disperse, then a bonus level from quest; Boom 2 Levels?

What is it that says you have another one, and do you really have 2? I ask because the notification on the right side does not disappear if you use your promotion directly from selecting the Commander without clicking on the notification.

What methods there are to speed up victory projects?
I started wondering as I took science civ suzerain bonus:
"Professional Architects" = +25% Production towards completing Projects in Cities with a Science Building
And I have
"Public Works" -policy card = +30% Production towards completing Projects.

Each milestone on the respective path from all ages gives a discount for the project as well.

Mughals can buy projects (or at least some like the World‘s Fair). It requires good culture output though, as the ability is at their last civ-specific civic.

Sometimes I forget to assign a promotion the first time, then the next promotion I get to that commander I have to assign two. The XP keeps stacking even while you have unassigned promotions.

Mughals can buy wonders, and thus any VC builds that are coded as such. Technically, those aren’t really “projects”, but at this point I’ve given up on all the poor wording on the Legacy screen.

So they can buy the World Fair and Manhattan Protect (classified as wonders in the build UI and are visible on the map like any wonder), but none of the Science projects or Operation Ivy.

I knew it worked for the World's Fair but not the Science projects, but I didn't know why this is. Thanks for the clarification!

Yes I really have 2. Basically it shows I have 2 points available. But turn before I had zero? We will see if it still happens after latest patch.

How do I know whether mods can handle the new patch? I have just UI ones - City Hall, Policy Yields Preview, Sukritact's Simple UI, and TCS Improved Plot Tooltip.

I don't use a lot of mods, usually, and if I do I don't mind troubleshooting, but the fact that Civ 7 has involved continual troubleshooting and trying to deal with bugs since launch means I don't have the energy to do the same with these (wonderful) mods.

Option 1. Just try

Option 2. Use mod manager https://forums.civfanatics.com/reso...s-manager.32088/updates#resource-update-35552

It helps you to see if there is mod updates after game update
It helps you to manually visit mod resource and/ or their discussion pages to see commemts about their compatibility.

Is it just me or did they not fix/put back in the 'last built' notification when the city production screen pops up? Or am I just not seeing it...
I don’t ever remember such a thing existing. It’s possible it was in one of the PC patches and was not released on Console (I’m on Xbox Series X). But I have never seen a notification in Civ7 on what a city has produced, in spite of the fact that it’s a really obvious and useful thing to have. Are you sure this wasn’t a mod?
