Norway in GS, but in German.
After only playing in English, it's SO WEIRD to read all the terms in German. "Nachbarschaftsbonus"? Wth?

That’s interesting about lavras losing GPP boost. I get that it is a nerf, but part of me misses the fact that some famous Russian writers were fairly religious (and of course, some were very much not), so the buff was a nice nod.

That's not for certain. Apparently, it wasn't on the old splash screen either.

Looks like Russia got hit by a nerf truck. Losing GPPs from the Lavra will pretty much leave Russia as only a religious civ, which makes incredibly little sense.

Looks like the Gobustan quote comes from Shelley's "Prometheus Unbound" based off the German screenshot that was posted here:

In English:
Then weave the web of the mystic measure;
From the depths of the sky and the ends of the earth,
Come, swift Spirits of might and of pleasure,
Fill the dance and the music of mirth,

Yep! Paraphrased from the National Park Service's website; the story in full:

Before the Kiowa came south they were camped on a stream in the far north where there were a great many bears, many of them. One day, seven little girls were playing at a distance from the village and were chased by some bears. The girls ran toward the village and the bears were just about to catch them when the girls jumped on a low rock, about three feet high. One of the girls prayed to the rock, "Rock take pity on us, rock save us!" The rock heard them and began to grow upwards, pushing the girls higher and higher. When the bears jumped to reach the girls, they scratched the rock, broke their claws, and fell on the ground.

Still haven't found the source of the Chocolate Hills one yet however....

Oh I do understand my native language quite well. :p It just reads so strange if you are used to Civ in English!
Sorry, missed that part ;) (Out of interest: Does the Dutch translation of Nachbarschaftsbonus make sense to you? Is Dutch for a German reader as legible as German for a Dutch reader?)

So... the Let's Play people's press builds do not include Eleanor?

...is Eleanor ready for release? Is she delayed? IS SHE A DLC?!

:eek2: CONSPIRACY :eek2:

If Norway get bonus production from every coastal tiles that is an OK bonus, better than per every tile resource. Maybe from the Industrial era Norway could then get 2 production from every coastal tile. Would that be OK? I can remember William Van Oranje in Civ IV having something similar.

So Mexico City has Torontos old bonus.

It's good that harbours are getting some love, they've already received one buff and now extra power if they are Suzeiran of Cardiff.

I just booted up Civ and it isn't mentioned now either (GP's from Lavra)

It would be nice if the Lavra indeed got nerfed, in those "rankings threads" numerous people said the Lavra was indeed OP. Kongo got their nerf when their GPP total got cut by 50%, Russia should get nerfed as well.

That Lavra nerf. So the Norway buff is production from coastal tiles? Welp, it would at least make it so that Norway has enough secured production instead of it being a hit or miss.

Norway hasn't been changed nor has the Stave Church or the berserker.

EDIT: Berserker has been at +10 since R&F. So that wasn't changed at all.

It is. Reading is easy, understanding spoken Dutch is much, much harder.

Why Civilization is translated into German? Do they do it to all games there?

"You encounter the city-state of HATTUSCHA"

Just finished a look at Potatoes 1st hour...
The ability to faith build settlers with a guaranteed monumentality is big.
Pingala's new 2nd levels culture is very very strong... tempting to drop magnus early
Do not really need provision with additional Maori food
This civ has the ability to really get a fast culture victory although Potato is just giving a general push through.... You meet all the civs early.. he could have suzed Kandy early... so much power.
Maori is not hard to pronounce, each vowel only makes one sound, the r is very slightly rolled and WH is an whispy F... I do not mind though as it's great seeing hometown names for once.
