Have you played that script yet? I did, and found LOTS of food, IW to be obviously essential, and very slowed down AIs.

@Imhotep: You make good decisions and play well is SGs - I think you seem at least as good of a player as I am. Maybe you just need to mix your strategies up a bit or be a bit more aggressive.

Thanks for the compliment. That really made me smile . I guess I know what my achilles heel is - I play to leisurely in SP gaming. In SGs I concentrate and take care of MM'ing and such small but important things, but in solo games I really just cruise along without investing too much care. That may suffice for Prince, it definitely doesn't for Monarch and above. It is a matter of concentration and dedication, but these things are demanded from me all day over, so I just don't put them into gaming any more...

I played 100 or so turns to get a bit of an idea, and would up in the upper left corner with a fincial dream spot of mega flood plains. Now the city was going to have some serious health issues...

but if you do find someone better then me, you can count me as a lurker/back-up player.

(also i have never played Jungle map either)

I think I'd like to have a go at this new map. LK SGs are the best way to get introduced to new civs and map scripts, as I always say!

Since it is BtS you may want to consider Normal speed on a standard map. I've tried it a couple of games and feel it plays better than Epic in BtS or Normal in vanilla.

Normally play with Monarch but with BTS i've had some succesfull (and some not so succesfull) games with Emperor.
