Difficulty = Regent
Civilization = Persia
Map = Pangaea
Barbs = None
World Size = Standard

Remember 10 turns per round - STRICT 24 hours got it, total 48 to complete.
Repeat player restriction: You may NOT play a second round unless:
1) At least 2 different players in front of you.
2) The game has been IDLE for over 48 hours.
My goal is to let a ton of people play in this milestone game.

That's right, we have gone back to where it all started with LK1 and Persia. Of course at this point plain regent is far to easy.

Special Restrictions:
We may NEVER lead the ancient ages. ONE AA tech must me left unresearched so that we **DON'T** get our free tech.
The game MUST be won by domination.
HINT: The Temple of Artemis will never expire.
HINT2: Expect a lot of fighting, so Monarchy is the preferred government.

I will have the first turns up later today to start this puppy.

The following tactics are PROHIBITED:

RoP Abuse Tactics - Denying resources, blocking key tiles, RoP rape, or other ways to screw-up a civ via the RoP. A scout in AI territory has an explicit RoP and is subject to this rule.

Peace Treaty abuse - If you get concessions from the AI you must wait for the 20 turns to end before declaring another war.

Resource abuse - You can't disconnect / reconnect a resource every turn for the sake of building cheap units to upgrade with excess cash.

Ship chaining exploit - you can move a ship, unload troops to another ship in the same square not using any movement, move that ship, etc. This allows you to ship an indefinite distance, and that is why I consider it an exploit.

The negative science exploit - you can run a huge deficit (-250 / turn) of negative cash with a token penalty of one lost worker / cheap building. If cash will go below zero, the research level must be dropped.

Palace Jump - You abandon the capital city to move the palace to a new location. If you want to move the palace, build a new palace.

Mass troop jumping - You can't give away a give a city to transport a large amount of troops to another landmass.

Worker baiting - You can't spread around and sacrifice workers to an oncoming attack. This is often done to avoid losing real units or cities. This takes advantage of the AI failure to prioritize targets.

Standard LK house rules:
1) Worker automation of any kind is prohibited.

2) Worker blockades are prohibited. This prevents things such as fortifying workers along the coast to stop invasions, blocking troops from going through your territory with workers, etc. Workers activity doing something along the coast is fine. The workers must be actively doing something.

3) You may not declare war on a civ if you are currently shipping cash and / or goods to the civ.

4) Even if not covered under exploits listed, please try not to use tactics that take advantage of holes in the game design.

5) Our reputation is golden - please respect it.

6) Self-research is highly preferred, if it is viable. I would rather invest money in beakers to toward science, then waste it on demands. Minimum research is discouraged unless we have no viable alternatives. This may happen at times such as going for republic early on, or late game to insure we get nationalism.

7) As you probably know barbs are screwed up in C3C. It is preferred that you add the following line to your Civ3 .ini file - noAIpatrol=0. Adding "noAIpatrol=0" to the .ini file turns the annoying patrolling back on for the AIs, but also restores movement to the barbarians.

Ooh, I just HAVE to grab a turn somewhere here!

I expect lots of Immortals dragging catapults around against Muskets and (hopefully) not Riflemen.

I would think that we don't need Philosophy or Code of Laws, skip Philo if we don't go for the slingshot, CoL if we do, right?

Do you mean "must never leave the ancient age"? You have (had) "must not lead the ancient age", which doesn't make much sense to me.

I recommend Philosophy as the never-researched tech. Code of Laws gives courthouses, which can be useful. Of course, in actuality, Iron Working @max and little to nothing else would probably be sufficient.... I would at least start with IW at max. Capture capital after capital after capital, once borders have expanded.

Eagerly awaiting my shot in the game,
Arathorn

3400 BC
We have met our first victim, oops I mean neighbor. The Hittites are totally jerks and won't give us Alphabet for both starting techs.

3050 BC
(IT) We meet up with the Celts and the give us Burial and $10 for Masonry.

Summary:
Not much to say at this time.

Remember 10 turns per round - STRICT 24 hours got it, total 48 to complete.

Special Restrictions:
We may NEVER leave the ancient ages. ONE AA tech must be left unresearched so that we **DON'T** get our free tech.
** The game will be terminated and closed if the above rule is violated - period. No replay, and no second chance.
The game MUST be won by domination.
HINT: The Temple of Artemis will never expire.
HINT2: Expect a lot of fighting, so Monarchy is the preferred government.

lurker's comment: Congratulations on this milestone game - your games are very fun to lurk with nice variants. Hopefully LK100 will be the first LK game I get a chance to play some turns in. :)

Well you could "got it" right now!

Well don't forget the phrase The game MUST be won by domination.

Turn 0 - 3000 BC
All is well.

Turn 1 - 2950 BC
Buy Alphabet and 10 gold from the Hittites for Masonry, and Ceremonial Burial.

Turn 4 - 2800 BC
Celts learned WC but I'll wait and see if I can get more use out of Alphabet.

Turn 5 - 2750 BC
Well now the Hittites learned WC, so I'll sell Alphabet to the Celts for WC.

IBT: Persepolis: Granary -> Warrior (then Settler, to time growth with settler).

Turn 6 - 2710 BC
See blue borders in the north of the world...

Turn 7 - 2670 BC
It is America. They are down Alphabet and Ceremonial Burial. No trades.

IBT: Persepolis: Warrior -> Settler

Turn 8 - 2630 BC
America learns the Wheel. Buy it and 20 gold for Alphabet and Ceremonial Burial (they wouldn't buy it for Alphabet and all our gold).
We have horses directly west of Persepolis. At least we'll have horsemen.
A scouting warrior sees America has Ivory.

Notes:
* Iron Working in 4 turns at -3 gpt with 40 gold. See in the last few turns if we can turn science down.
* Settler in 2, and growth in 2. One of our next cities should build a barracks and start pumping out some military.

Got it. Got the rules, got the hints, got everything. :)

EDIT: Should I zip the save when I post it?

LK likes that because quote "games have ended because of corrupt saves". I zipped the save just for him in this game, so yes, I would. It's not that hard.

After Iron Working we could head towards Monarchy. (Or perhaps Mathematics).

2510BC (1): Notice that I can MM for an extra gold because we're gonna waste a food. :)

Research stays at max of course, since we'll be building a settler.

IT: Persepolis: Settler --> Warrior

2470BC (2): Send a warrior east to explore.

Science at 70% gets IW in 3. Since we're not gonna be growing, it goes there.

2430BC (3): Worker finishes mine, goes to plain.

IT: Persepolis: Warrior --> Barracks

2390BC (4): Science to 60%... Iron Working in 1.

IT: Iron Working --> Mathmatics (At min, I don't think we really need anything else anyway, except maybe HBR)

2350BC (5): There is iron to the northwest of Persepolis, about ten tiles away.

That iron makes city placement really tricky...

2310BC (6): Pasargadae founded in the northwestern flood plain area.

Everyone has the Wheel right now.

2270BC (7): The Aztecs are met. They are down by means of Masonry, Alphabet, Ceremonial Burial, and Iron Working. I wonder. Is something wrong? The Aztecs start with Ceremonial Burial...

Oh, wait... *hits self in head* forgot that they were changed in C3C.

2230BC (8): Wow, that horse tile sure is handy!

2190BC (9): American has Mysticism.

IT: Persepolis: Barracks --> Settler

2150BC (10): Spot two other borders.

Here's the save, Tomoyo style. :) (HINT HINT COUGHCOUGHIT'S UNDER THE SCREENSHOTCOUGHCOUGH)

Okay, we're only five turns in... I think we can still switch. (But America has Myst, get it from them)

Good idea for a variant Lee, it should hopefully be interesting to watch!

I have little doubt you'll win :)

We don't know how long the game will last, so no reason to stop research. In addition, as I said before I think The Temple of Artemis will make domination very easy.

What in the world??????????
This save was absurd to find. Who in the world would click the picture to download the game? The only reason I found it was due to quoting! This is for the people who prefer things to be easy to find.

Can I put my name in a LK game, please? Got it...
Proposal: On pangaea MM is a good tech to skip, especially in C3C.
