LK100 - Finally ready for regent, Persia, OPEN succession game

preturn: Lower sci to not go negative.

1475BC: Settler moves off the river but get two BGs and one wheat immediately.

1325BC: Aztecs start Pyramids, and Hitties have Writing.

1300BC: I get Polytheism from Sumeria by Iron Working + Wheel.

We could get Monarchy in 36 turns, or we could get Writing and Philosophy and pick Monarchy as free tech. This means we will not be able to research Construction or Map Making. I guess that's fine? We probably don't need harbors.

I get Writing from Hitties by Math+19g. This is the last tech trade I think we should make with the AI.

If we connect the ivory, we should also build Zeus.

Philosophy in 12 turns.

1275BC: America demands Writing, sorry no way. And he backs off.

1250BC: Found Bactra to claim ivory.

I establish embassy with Hitties. It's size-2, has two spearmen, building a settler in 5 turns while growing in 10. :smoke: It has one lux, no horses or iron connected. It only knows Celts and us.

We'll get Philosophy in less than 10 turns. I suggest we attack Hitties afterwards before it connects the horses and iron, and trigger our GA.

We need to decide which city to build ToA. Capital seems to be the obvious choice (we could build it within 50 turns I guess), with the side effect of slowing down expansion. But I think we don't have to settle every tile before we wage war. We could start war very soon. Otherwise Antioch, which is building a granary.

Techwise, we should avoid making more tech trades with the AI and skip Map Making.

I have no time to play in the next 60+ hours, so I doubt I'll have any chance to actually get this game, but I would like to point out that ToA works just as well captured as built and that 17 immortals (about the same cost as ToA) will be more than sufficient to take out an entire civ, let alone just the ToA-building city.....

Remember 10 turns per round - STRICT 24 hours got it, total 48 to complete.
Repeat player restriction: You may NOT play a second round unless:
1) At least 2 different players in front of you.
2) The game has been IDLE for over 48 hours.
My goal is to let a ton of people play in this milestone game.

Special Restrictions:
We may NEVER leave the ancient ages. ONE AA tech must be left unresearched so that we **DON'T** get our free tech.
** The game will be terminated and closed if the above rule is violated - period. No replay, and no second chance.
The game MUST be won by domination.
HINT: The Temple of Artemis will never expire.
HINT2: Expect a lot of fighting, so Monarchy is the preferred government.

Monarchy arrives soon. The fun shall begin shortly...

IT Americans start Zeus, we might be too late

Which city is it? Maybe investigate and we could still build it in the capital, with GA help if needed. Of course connect the ivory asap. Time a prebuild now.

preturn: Lower sci to not go negative.

Lurkers comment:

I have been lurking many LK series games and I have seen several discussions about when it's ok to run with negative cash flow so you don't loosing buildings after giving in to AI demands IBT. I think 100g was the answer.

Just recently I found out that you can access your advisors IBT. This means that if you have 20g, are running at -2gpt and your 20g are demanded, before you answer the demand you can go in and adjust science so you have positive cash flow and let the AI have your last gold.

When the demanders ugly face pops up IBT, you have your foreign advisor on the screen too, click on the face of the advisor (not the "more" text) and you will get a blank F4 screen. From this you can access your F1 screen, adjust your sliders, close the screen and you are back to deal with the demander.

This can also be used if you have forgot to check your trades and a luxury deal ends and your trading partner shows up and want to renegotiate. If you don't like the new deal or for any other reason don't want to continue the trade, you can in the same way go to F1 and adjust your luxery slider so you don't have riots.

I don't think this can be regarded as an exploit since I think you adjust the sliders before anything is calculated in your new turn and it was the game developers that put this shortcut to the advisors in the game.

Maybe you already knew this, but I have never seen this mentioned before.

Edit: An easy way to test how it works, without having to wait for a demand, is to open the diplo screen with a civ, since this is the same screen as when demanded.

This is news to me. I tested it, and it actually works! When you are done, it comes back to the AI diplo screen!

Yup, I'm using this too. I thought it's widely known.

I've never taken part in a LK game but have read a few, I have some free time now so I'll take it.

@dl123654 - For future reference please note the game by something like LK100-750BC. Using the generic name can be confusing for people in multiple games. It could result in getting the wrong game if someone already upload a game with Xeres 750 BC.

Well, like others I've lurked more than a few games, perhaps its time I joined in.
Got it.

Pictures from turn 1. Note the warriors that moved next to Bacta. Why me?
