LK140 - Trying emperor

Turn 390 - 405 / 1760AD to 1790AD

Turn 391: - Plastics.
- Renegotiate deals with Asoka to get back our Gold. He dont want to take Oil - i guess he has some...
Spoiler :
dealsnd3.jpg
- Aluminium Mined... While at it i also mine over the other Wndmill in Nibru... It has enought Sushi-food, and beeing our Troop city, it can use the hammers...

Turn 393: - Eifel Tower done. I will make 3GD go to Eridu - it's much faster than Uruk and i dont want to switch out of Free Speach because our boarder strugles... Also some Spy [pissed]
Spoiler :
waterzi4.jpg
Turn 394: - Those random events start to get Boring...
Spoiler :
rdnmr3.jpg
Turn 397: - Refrigiration -> Super Conductors.
- Our mainland cities are completely corporated...

Turn 400: - Asoka comes begging for Medicine... A expensive monopoly tech, so no.

Turn 402: - A GS from Bad Tibira... As we already have one stockpiled, i make another Akademy (Bad Tibira for something like ~50 :science:).

Turn 403: - Another Spy Attack. I am Pretty sure it's Bull.
- Have to stick Supermarket before 3GD
- He also comes asking for 900 gold. It's a lot, but i think not worth another hit - would put him to +/- 0 which might even be Annoyed...
- A random  (He asked to trade communism for Medicine btw. which was refused.)
Spoiler :
hammyym9.jpg
Turn 405: A new Quest... We need to gain a source of copper... There is nothing even remotely within reach, so i guess that's a no-go.
Spoiler :

Notes:
- Great People: We have a GE and a GS and could heva a Golden age if get one more... Perhaps we should readjust our GP-cities, to have lower Scientist odds...
- There is a Galleon with 3 Suchi-men moving towards the islands... (Active in the save) i hope that will be enought to finish the Sushi quest - not exactly sure how many cities we have corporated since the quest came up.
- Every main land city has both corps...
- I think we should concider foreighn spread (Sushi to Bull maybe ? - ne competing Culture...) to make our corps more cost-efficient.

 I thought the GE was going to help with 3GD? Did we get another one?

No. But the Wonder is not in danger, as no one is even close to the tech in question. Eridu can make it peretty fast anyway. ETA 9 right now (i had to stick in Supermarket in Eridu bacause of the Poisoned Water.), about 35% complete. We probably still can use the GE without wasting :hammers:, however, most of our cities need supermarkets as well anyway (i started a couple) to afford the Power-:yuck:, so we can use the time it takes to build 3GD naturally...

New Updates
Several of our island cities are pretty much useless at moment due to lack of infrastructure. I would rather get Mining Inc to these cities to finally get them some shields.

I agree with Refar that 3GD looks like a lock. All civs still need electric power to get the industrial prereq for plastics. The only tech they are ahead that matters much is artillery that heads toward rocketry.

Our island looks a bit better, but I would like to get several infantry and tanks to the iron and uranium island.

At this point the only thing that could prevent us from winning is an unexpected war that kills our production and science rate. I really want to keep pushing military hard. If nothing else, I would like to disband junk such as pikes and replace with infantry.

While talking about this...
If we move towards Rocktry via Flight (instead of Artillery) we could build a Airport somewhere on the mainland, which would help a lot with ferrying executives, and - if needed - units.

Flight is a bit more expnesive than Artillery... But could perhaps be traded for, after teching one or two turns in...

I have it, and could play soon.

But, I had no Internet connection yesterday at home (something probably crashed at my provider) and might have problem posting the save and my turn before Monday if they are useless at sorting the problem quickly (it had happened in the past).

If this is a problem, I could be swapped.

If this is a problem, I could be swapped.
I can't play before Sunday night (maybe), so we will stick with the current order.

T0 (1790AD - T405)

We are unhealthy, but are not building Public Transportation (will do)
Need to spread mining more than sushi to islands. (done both)

What had happened to our research, we are SEVEN (visible) tech behind ASOKA and Lincoln, while being up only TWO !!! (even if 4 of theirs are dead end techs, while we have several behind our visible two techs)

--> Internet should be a must (computer next)

We are paying 31gpt for military, disband most of our archer, catapult, pike, vulture while building infantries

T1

Asoka has completed Apollo...

Use the GE to finish (almost) 3GD as it was still 10t.

T2
superconductor -> Computer
3GD done

T5
Finish Sushi quest (gain +10gpt in Uruk)

T8
Get a GMerchand
-> start a GA with the GS

T9
Send a galleon with 2 inf+mining to the northern island (GOTO to reach in 8t)

T10
Hammurabi asks for Assembly line very expensive, but Asoka, Lincoln and Ramses have it, so accepted
he turns pleased (from cautious)

Found 2 cities to take advantage of all the not-used tiles in the midle of our lands.
(with sushi+mining, they will be usefull before long)

T11
Computer->Genetics (need health and needed for SShip)

SIGN Defensiv Pact with ASOKA.
Start Internet in Eridu (15t)

T15 (1820 - T420)

They are 2 boats on GOTO
--> One will reach the northern island next turn with the last Mining Exec + 2 Infntries for Defence.
--> One will reach the Westren island in 4t turn (it is at middle island) with some defence (1 Infantry + 1 lgbow picked at middle island after dropping 2 infantries)

Asoka has Apollo, but no part yet. His cultural attempt his not going too fast, his cities are at 30k, 25k and 20k (no visible progress during the last turns).

Now that we have a DP with him, I would refuse any tech demands even from Hammurabi.

Now, some screenshots (for team member and lurkers) showing :
- we are gaining our tiles back against America and should have total control soon.

LK140_north.jpg

- not much progress versus India.

LK140_south.jpg

- the 2 new cities having access to previously not used tiles

LK140_new_cities.jpg

--> Adab gains 2 farmed grass + 6 mines (including coal).
--> Zabalam has 1 farm plain + iron + uranium.

After Genetics, I suggest we keep the research on techs known by no one (I would still go for Space Elevator), wait for the Internet to give us all the AIs Techs, start our Apollo and SS and don't trade anything (until the end).

Did we completed the Sushi Quest ?

Just curious what the reward was.

Oh... indeed - missed it in the report, despite having specifically looking for it :hammer2:

Somehow i hoped it would be more :D

1820 AD
I see nothing to change.

1824 AD
(IT) We have entered the future era. The next science project is robotics.

1842 AD
(IT) The Internet is completed. We pick up divine right, military tradition, fascism, communism, flight, military science, artillery, and rocketry.

1843 AD
Pathetic Brennus begs for liberalism, and gets it.

New Updates
I continued operation military swap. I built an infantry and disbanded a longbow. We still have a decent amount of obsolete garbage to replace. IMHO our only low possibility of loss is an unexpected war delaying us to long from launching. As long as we keep the military coming, I don't think that will happen.
Of course, now we can build mech infantry once again make most units obsolete.

The Apollo Program is in progress.

Got it. Looks like we got lucky with Internet, but I've no idea why we're researching Robotics seeing as the Space Elevator is really weak.

Had a look and decided to make a civics swap: we're building Apollo in the capital, so BUR will speed that, and we have loads of specialists and don't have much to build in cottage cities, so REP looks better. Might as well use Cristo, eh? On T1 I notice we haven't built a Zig in one of the island cities :smoke: :smoke: Building it saves us 45gpt :crazyeye:

Techwise, it's satellites (now two turns sooner thanks to civics and wealth building) then the run to Fusion. Fission is also completed (Hammy got there first) and we get MM from Internet. Working on Fibre Optics. Speaking of MM, Hammy built UN and I voted for him but the bugger didn't give the +2 modifier, so I guess that's an AP feature only. Asoka voted for us, so we will be OK if it comes to the diplo win.

It turned out that Eridu is too southerly for SE, so I reluctantly started it in Uruk. Handily we popped a GE that same turn, so it's weed factor is reduced because it comes down from 13 to 7 turns. However, it's still a waste because it costs around 8-10 turns to research Robotics and will only bring forward our launch date by 1-2 turns.

Events-wise, we had two exploding mines at Uruk and a plane crash where we took the 1000EPs rather than the +1 boost with Asoka. Next turn, we thwarted his spy. Woo.

Trades: Oil to Asoka for Fish, Crabs and 12gpt. Horse to Ramy for Dyes and 9gpt. DefPac with Hammy.

Tech path: Fibre Optics - Fusion - Composites - Ecology.

Civics: we should switch back into FS now that Uruk is done with the big projects, but USUF is only better once we complete Composites (and start Casings) as we lose research speed.

GMen: we have an Artist, we'll get the GE from Fusion, but sadly the next GE (from Eridu) is highly likely to be a GE as well (16 turns). I'd save the Artist til then anyway and then merge to Uruk if it's a GE.

:bump: This is close to 24 hours for Yena.

Not much to do except for pressing enter 15 times. I researched Fusion and are now halfway through Composites. We have one GA and one GE, and will get another Great Person in Eridu next turn. I have reassigned the specialists there, hoping to get a different GP so that we can have another golden age, but chances are that it will be another GE. Please remember to reassign the specialists after the GP is born to maximize production again.
