Standard LK house rules:
8) Due to the fact that it destroys the in game log, the use of the BUG mod is *prohibited*.
LKendter - it doesn't destroy the log ... ok, maybe it does. Do you have any saves or games that demonstrate this 'feature'? We've tried to track this down without much luck as running the game in debug mod stops the crash. I think that it might be related to the colours that are used to log items - not sure, just a feeling.

Every time I tried to look at the log via the button in the upper left hand corner Civ4 would crash to the desktop. In addition, the replay would get corrupted and would stop playing.

Try some of the older LK series games (LK139 and before) without running BUG and try access the log. You should see the problem.
 
the replay got screwed too ... that makes some sense because it lifts stuff from the log. LK139 and before ... ok, I will take a look.

On the BUG - Log mess:

I am in PH12 where some palyers use BUG, i do not. You can use any of the saves there for reference.

If i load a savegame, try to open log -> Crash.

If i just load a savegame, do NOT touch the Log, play my turns, save, everything is ok.

The next player - using BUG again - can Load my savegame and open the Log.

So basicly BUG does not destroy the LOG - the log is intact and can be used by other BUG-Players - Just if a non-BUG user tries to open up he Log, his game will Crash...

I think, that this is caused by BUG using some tags / strings in the log, which the unmodded game - more precisley the log-display method or class - can not interprete.

I looked into this over the week end and I think I have the solution. The BUG mod includes simcuties extended colour xml file. While the BUG mod doesn't use the new colours, it does change some of the old ones. It appears that this is causing the crash. Any fix will not correct already BUG-ified games, but it will stop the rot going forward.

I'm planning on releasing a new version after the next patch.

Sorry... It's sometimes easier to find a hour or two to play under the week after or before work, than in weekend :blush:

Turns 465 - 480 / 1875AD to 1890AD

Turn 466: - Eridu gives us a GE.
- Set UR to pop another GP in ~15 turns... Probably a useful one, tho it will not matter...

Turn 468: - "No Nukes" Resolution comes up. Vote yes.
- we pop Uranium in a mine near Eridu.

Turn 471: - One of those "Let's remember the player, that there is a diplo system in the game" - turns... [pissed]
- Brennus asks to stop trading with Licoln - Refused, because we don't care.
- Asoka want's Satelites and gets refused as well - he will not drop below pleased because of that...
- Rameses cancels the Dye < > Horse deal... His new asked price is ridiculous...

- Composites in, Ecology is our last missing tech. I use the spare GE to bulb two turns of Ecology, not sure if it will translate into a earlier launch... It might...

Turn 475: - Ecology is done. 10 turns left to finish the components.

Turn 476: - Global Civic Enviromentalism comes up :( I vote "NO", but we all know it's not going to help...

Turn 477: - "Enviromentalism" fails... Asoka voted "NO" as well. I almost have guilty feeling about having refused to give him Satelites a couple of turns eralier...

Turn 480: - Ur pops a Great Spy. We can have our GA... Tho the Ship will be ready to launch in 5 turns anyway... Might give us 1 turn... He's Active in the Save. The other dudes - GE in Uruk and GA in Nibru are sleeping.

Notes: Nothing fancy happened. We are 5 turns awat from Launching. I ran counter Espionage on Bull and Lincoln just in case they get any funny idea.
Also started Globe theatre somewhere - for the 2 more points it will give us in the final score. Perhaps we can finish the other missing stuff after the launch...

I don't know if we will see the "uploads function" come back anytime soon. The hack may have permanently screwed this function.

I started with a huge choc (Asoka cultural cities) :

Asoka has 2 cities already above 50k culture and the last one is at 45k.
Then realise it is Epic and he needs 75k not 50k :)

(but need to check its rate just in case -> 500cpt for the 3rd city)

Start a Golden Age, the last SS part is now scheduled in 4t (Uruk)

Turn research to 0% to upgrade all military just in case we need to go and raze an indian city
(see power increase graph at the end)

Hammurabi is spreading some of his corporation in our cities (chasing Mining with Jewels), since I have nothing else to do, I rebuild Mining executives.

We have lost a tile to global Warming in an island (plain ->desert). 1st time for me in BtS (no idea if we had a warning earlier).

Well played chaps :goodjob: .

I played a shadow from LK's original save and got a space victory in 1919. I beelined astronomy (825ad) and conquered egypt fairly early on. Where you pulled ahead was using corporations while I stayed with SP. I would have benefitted from building FP in Egypt , switching to Free Market and building corporations myself.
 
It shows you can win at Emperor in BtS (at least some of the time) without warring, and with making some mistakes in city placement, civic switch timing, and other :smoke:
 
I just realized the ended almost the exact date as LK138 for a space win. 1905 AD vs. 1908 AD
