On the war comments - I am very nervous about the ticking clock. Of course, once temples kick in the India cities - a lot more squares.

However, to win we will need all of South America, the remaing island cities, China, Persia, Babylon, all of Africa and probably all of Europe. I am so glad that I upped the science factor in the next game. To much pressure here!
 
1585AD(7) - Dang! We managed to steal Ecology from China. Now I understand how Jersey Joe feels. And I have already use the most dangerous method. :confused:
1590AD(8) - Start building some Mass Transit. China starts UN & Manhattan. And we steal Space Flight from China! Since when is espionage so easy?? :confused: We asked Aztec to remove their troops or declare war and its removed. :(
1595AD(9) - China demand spice and we say no! Still no war. We ask Chinese troops to leave and they do as told! :mad: Persian & Egypt signed MPP. Persian & Iroquis starts SETI. China completed 3 spaceship part from Apollo Program. We ask Aztec to move and once again they complied. :( We attempt to expose Chinese spy and war is declared! Woohoo! [dance]
And we immediately plant another new spy in Beijing. :lol: We are preparing for Chinese attack.
1600AD(10) - France declare war on China. [dance] Egypt declare war on China [party] We face massive bombardment from Chinese army. Germany & Russia signed Peace Treaty. Looks like China has RoP with Russia. Aztec & Egypt alliance against China. Russian starts UN. We captured New Hangchow. We lost a destroyer and China lost an Aircraft Carrier. This will teach them to send Carrier unescorted. :D

Our army is next to 3 China border cities which we can take the next turn. I have also loaded 3 transport which is escorted by 2 battleship and 2 destroyer near Lonely Island which we can use to take those Chinese Islands. China has landed their raider army near Silk Passage together with 2 Infantry. But with 3 Mech and 4 Artillery I think we should hold against them. Idle workers are fortified near Canberra. We still have more troops fortified near Spice is Nice. At the moment Egypt has no Oil while France has no Uranium & America no Rubber.

@meldor - While I understand you comment, I look at this from a different view. I see a failed mod - regent should not see the space race starting in 1600AD. I failed to test before starting the game - the 75% corruption factor makes the game much more enjoyable, but it came with a bad side effect.

@D9phoneix - Kick China hard and strong. Since we are allied with NO ONE, we only need to destroy / capture their capital. At that point, we can decide who is the biggest space race threat.

Due to an event beyond my control (IE a roommate) i no longer have net access. Because of this i am going to have to drop out of this and all my SG games. I have no idea when/if i will ever get a phone line back anytime soon. I wish you guys luck and may still say hi from time to time while im at work.

One piece of BAD news - France build the UN!
This is not good news. France declared war on China, was this done in an alliance with us? Can we nail the city that contains the UN? If we raze that city, doesn't that eliminate the diplo option for good?
 
Hmmm....we start 2 turns after France and ours are suppose to complete in 10 turn in Brisbane. And we still lost to France?? Looks like we must quickly make a few AI happy. :p The only trouble now is we might accidentally win by UN vote.

The last time I check:

No.1 Australia
No.2 China

While Egypt and France is 3 & 4 respectively. And of course a number of Civ is annoyed with us. If we can get a MA with Russia, we can perhaps cut-off their RoP with China and also get another Civ on our side in the vote against China. But the question is, if the AI has UN, is it automatically one to be elected?

If that is the case then we will have a bit of weird result as China will definitely not vote for both France and Australia.

Lee, during my turn 6 leaders where generated and I know 5 had leader names (the 6th was genned interturn in defensive fight and killed when russians overran his position so I never saw him).
Maybe leader names have a problem similair to what we see with city names being stuck on Geelong.
 
Seti cascase is possible - But look at the map. Paris is a shield powerhouse!

What isn't clear - did Dark Sheer switch to Palace as a safety pre-build for an edge to get UN.

One problem we have here is that we went to the new patch. Under the new patch the AI places more importance on building wonders in better cities, and building the sapce ship. Prior to this patch the AI really didn't persue the space ship all out. Now it will be more aggressive with it.

The good news - by the time your turn is done, China will be a non-player. I hope to be near their capital at the end of my turn.

JJ will get the fun of Egypt and destroying Thebes and possibly America and Washington.

I want THEM to take the first round of the Egypt attack.
I finally get a new tech - recyling from Persia for space flight.
They are so sucky and don't even have Aluminum.

(10) 1650 AD - We razed Shanghai - so much for Copernicus - I refuse to capture a size 19 city.
During the battle for Beijing, Parke's Killer Tank Squad is formed.
Parkes inspires Whale City to build a factory - with growth this will be another nice city.

Summary - This really BLOWS. France having the UN makes it that much worse of a risk of loss.
FYI - I think Paris has IronWorks!
We can't take Paris, Thebes and Washington that quickly.

Here is what is going on -
1) India has been a great source for rushed settlers.
2) Siberia has been a great source for rushed military.
3) The worker's in Persian territory are not :smoke: - They let me take New Macao and form Found a Spot because of the improved rail-net.
4) The transport in SA is to let us move tanks past Tamiun - We can take advantage of the RoP and go after America.
5) Don't forget the Egypt / France cities in Siberia, and the Egypt / America cities in SA.

The Diplomatic Situation
A) Zulu - Forget them, just won't budge.
B) Germany - mpp for Space Flight
C) Egypt - Deals expire in 7 turns - I SHUT OFF AUTO RENOGIATE to suck money from then until war.
CRITICAL TARGET
D) America Deals expire in 8 turns - secondary, but important target.
E) Babylon RoP for 17 turns, Mpp for 19 turns.
F) Russia RoP for 10 turns. Can cancel China alliance at any time. mpp for Space Flight.
G) China - will talk peace. Will give up some junk cities, but NOT satellites.
However, peace would break MPP with Persia. Might deny RoP which means Egypt launches Spaceship.
H) Japan / Rome - a joke, who cares.
I) France - a bind here. Deals expire in 13 turns, but the lost of wines would KILL us.
We have a 12 turn window to take New Pi-Rhamsses for Wines, a very tight window since Egypt war can start for 7 turns.
J) Persia - 6 turns for RoP, 10 for Mpp. The Mpp is NOT important, let it go, then peace with China.
The RoP is critical - No RoP, No Egypt attack.
K) Aztec - 17 turns for RoP. Want 3 techs for MPP - OUCH.
I) Iroqoius - forget it.

SPACE RACE STATUS:
Egypt has completed 4 parts, building 4 parts.
America has completed 1 part, building 8 parts.
France is building 2 parts.


At this point we don't have to take the civs out, just cripple them from any chance at a space race.

@ALL - Don't bother building universities - we don't plan to research that much - these put us at risk for a culture win.
