LK26 - World Map

I see it. I don't think it will be 48 hours total time to finish. I only have about 2 hours max a night for civ3. I will however post updates on progress.

I don't have a problem with this one taking a while.
My turn wasn't exactly quick either.

The key is to show signs of life - and you said you would.

Quick update. I was called out of town on short notice. I did manage to get in a couple of turns last night and can hopefully finish this tonight as I am up in two more SGs. Two chinese cities taken. The Egyptians and Persians are really pounding them as well. France either swapped a wonder or rush built their first space part and has joined the space race. They can't build as many parts at one time as the Americans or the Egyptians, but they have the UN. So three will be on the plate for next action.

1650 (Pre-turn)
Aztecs and China sign a peace treaty. The military academy completes. The Americans complete the SS Fuels cells. The French add SS Docking Bay! What was that, when I checked before the end of turn it didn't even say they had started a part. They must have rushed it.
Egypt 4 completed 5 on the way.
America 2 completed 7 on the way.
France 1 completed 2 on the way.

1655 AD (1)
New Chinan liberated by our brave marines. New Anyang captured. Americans add SS Engine.
Egypt 4 completed 5 on the way.
America 3 completed 6 on the way.
France 1 completed 4 on the way.

1660 AD (2)
New Chengdu razed, we get 5 workers and 70 arty. That's right, I said seventy artillery! For free, in one city, captured. Gap town formed to fill the Gap. Germany and Zululand sigh an MPP. The Americans add SS Life Support System and SS Storage/Supply to their ship
Egypt 4 completed 5 on the way.
America 5 completed 4 on the way.
France 1 completed 4 on the way.

1665 AD (3)
Canton razed, more workers and a great leader. New Canton on a single square island is captured and we sink a Battleship and Galleon. Egypt finishes another part.
Egypt 4 completed 6 on the way.
America 5 completed 4 on the way.
France 1 completed 5 on the way.

1670 AD (4)
Get troops in place to nail the next two Chinese cities. Rome and Egypt sign an alliance against China. The French add two more parts to their ship. The Chinese do us a favor and take EDO from the Japanese.
Egypt 4 completed 6 on the way.
America 5 completed 4 on the way.
France 3 completed 5 on the way.

1675 AD (5)
More troop movement. Start putting troops in place to assault Egypt in two turns. One thing that will be interesting, they are about 5 techs ahead of us and have about 7K in the bank. German and Japan sign an MMP. Zululand and China sign a peace treaty. Good news, no added space parts.
Egypt 4 completed 6 on the way.
America 5 completed 4 on the way.
France 3 completed 5 on the way.

China is down to 6 cities, three of which are fixin' to disappear. After this next turn I will get what I can from peace with them before it is too late and then hit the Egyptians. Hopefully we can get enough people to ally with us to make it a dog pile. Troops are also getting in place for the march on Washington. Once we have the current crop of spacers out of the way we need to seize all rubber resources no matter where they are. No rubber, no space parts. Hopefully I can nail Thebes before the end of my turn and let the next person take out America and France.

Please make sure to cancel the MPP with Persia first before Peace with China. We want to keep our alliance / mpp options as

long as possible.

Chinese do us a favor and take EDO from the Japanese.
WAHOO!!!!! I hope the troops I left for you razed and then built a good Australian city .

New Chengdu razed, we get 5 workers and 70 arty.
This is great news, however where did come from? I showed just 6 at the end of my turn

Egypt 4 completed 6 on the way.
 I agree, Thebes must go ASAP!

1680 AD (6)
The just settled village of Beijing is razed and we get another Great Leader. We liberate Hangchow and I decide to keep this one. It is size 14 but I don't think the Chinese will survive two more turns. It comes with an Aqueduct, factory and hospital. We capture Shanghai as well.
Egypt 4 completed 6 in progress
America 5 completed 4 in progress
France 3 completed 6 in progress

1685 AD (7)
Chengdu captured with workers. Cancel all deals, declare war on Egypt. I had to pass up a perfect chance to nail about six Egyptian workers, but I have to let them attack first. We both have an MPP with Persia and I want them on our side. Egypt has a big 100 unit SoD up in China that they can no longer get home. This may be a problem for our small outposts up there, but hopefully with everyone against them they will be too busy. It is a shame those units can't make it home now to help protect their core. I left one little Chinese worker all alone in front of a big bad MI from Egypt. Hopefully they won't resist and we will get Persia on our side. Babylon declares war on the Egyptians. Persia Declares war on the Egyptians. The French begin building Longevity and complete another part.
Egypt 4 completed 6 in progress
America 5 completed 4 in progress
France 4 completed 5 in progress
Aztecs 0 completed 3 in progress

1690 AD (8)
Get Germany on board for silks, spices and 800g, they have an MPP with the Zulu (and Japan) and we get them for this price as well. Get Russia for spices and 1300g, the 100 unit Egyptian SoD is in their territory, hope they enjoy. Raze Alexandria and Shakespear's Theater, we get 11 workers and 4 arty. Sink Chinese Battleship and expose a carrier under it. Unfortunately I don't have another attack unit. Edo is once again ours. Sink Egyptian Battleship and transport off off Nagoya. Capture New Shanghi with one arty and one catapult. Russia brings Rome in own our side. We might have a problem, the Aztecs and Egypt sign an MPP and then an alliance against us. So much for our RoP with them. They sign against Russia. Russian city near SoD disappears. Zululand declares war on Egypt, yes! Japan comes in as well. Aztecs declare war on Germany. Germany takes out the next to the last Chinese city, an Egyptian city near it, and start pounding on the SoD. The Aztec are forced to declare war on the Zulu. The Egyptians finish Longevity in Asyut. The Aztecs declare war on Persia and Babylonia.
Egypt 4 completed 5 in progress a drop of one in progress! Must have been Alexandria.
America 5 completed 4 in progress
France 4 completed 5 in progress
Aztecs 0 completed 3 in progress

1695 AD (9)
Kill Mech Inf/Settler pair and get Great Leader. New Tsingtao is ours finally and that finishes off the Chinese. You don't even have to put them in the can wait pile. It looks like Babylon is assualting Thebes (size 31) with all their Cav. America and Egypt sign an alliance against Persia. The people love the defeat of the Chinese and WLT(Meldor)D breaks out all over. The Persian city of Bunyan in SA decides to join our cause.
Egypt 5 completed 2 in progress a drop of two in progress!
America 6 completed 3 in progress
France 4 completed 6 in progress
Aztecs 1 completed 2 in progress They attack some of our units last turn and must have gotten a leader to rus that part.

1700 AD (10)
The Aztec city of Chiauhtia is captured with workers. The Egyptians now have Modern Armour! Bombard and then capture New Hespolis from the Egyptians.

LK26 1700 AD Saved Game

Here is the up and down of it.

First the list of those on our side:
Germany
Zululand
Persia
Russia
Japan
Babylon
Rome

On Egypts side:
Aztecs
America (though not at war with us yet, just Persia).

Neutral:
France
Iroquois

Dead:
India
China

We need to finish Synth Fibers quickly so as to upgrade to MA. We can't fight MA with Tanks and MI for long. Right now we have numbers but that may not last long. One good thing is that Egypt got caught short with all of their trash units up in former China and they had nothing to counter with. They only hit back near Thebes with two MI and one MA. That was the extras they probably produced that turn. This also means we have one or two big stacks of Egyptian trash near the now German city of Anyang. I think we will have no problem taking out Thebes, as we have a large stack ready to hit it as soon as those 90+ arty units reduce it from pop 31 down to dirt. I pumped all of our re-enforcements for the last two turns into SA after the Azec suprise. We need to either blow through the Aztecs quickly or force them to peace (after getting all the rubber) and as part of peace force an MPP/RoP and get after America. They are the biggest threat to finish the spaceship right now. With an RoP with Germany we can take Paris in two or three turns, but Washington is a long way off. We may need to use our spy to stop a critical piece or two. That would give us time to end their chances.

The Aztecs have only brought Marines and Infantry to bare so far. The units we can pump over there can handle them easily. The best part is we can now take all of SA and use it as we will.

The next ten turns should be the best of the game....make or break.

[EDIT] The Aztecs picked the wrong time to have their most productive cities making Spaceship parts.

Okay looks like the Egyptian threat has moved down the list a little. :goodjob:
Now is France or America the bigger problem? Any chance we could get the Iroquois to help us?
I will pick this up after work in about 10 hours.

The French would be easy to get to, IIRC Pais and Berlin are close enough that Paris is only one or two tiles inside the culture border.
America is the biggest threat, they have the most completed and the Aztecs stand between us and them. Wahington is tow or three cities from the border. It might be possible to rush build transports on the Atlantic side and hit Washington from the coast (like the English did, we replaced the English, right). I looked to see what it would take to get an MPP with them and it was on the order of 1200-1400gpt (for Egypt). Maybe America is weaker and it won't take as much.

America 5 completed 4 in progress
France 4 completed 5 in progress

I consider America the bigger problem - without the RoP with the Americans, as they will be hard to get at. France is a breeze to get to. I would very much push most of the effort in SA and take everything we can. Even grab cities in SA will get us more rubber, cut of more luxuries to the rest of the world, etc. I would love America to go to war and lose there gems - great start to government anarchy.

I would sell my soul to the Iroquois to get them to declare war on America.

The good news - the Egypt SoD stuck outside of Egypt. :)
The other good news - I don't think the America area has much in troops.

Worse than you think Lee....

America 6 completed 3 in progress
France 4 completed 6 in progress

America has to go....don't forget espionage, burn that production. It may save us yet!

France could be as big a threat with Paris a powerhouse producer.
I have not looked at the map, but if the artillery is not in place to raze Thebes, I might be inclined to go after some French cities even stopping 1 or 2 of the in progress would buy time. Same with America. Hopefully 1 or 2 of the in progress pieces are close and poorly defended or a spy could get them.

You have 90+ arty in range of Thebes. Got there on the last turn after nailing Alexandria.
I forgot to mention that I had planned on settling Suez, but the Babylonians put a city down inside their culture border before I could get ours in place inside of Egypts.

@Jersey Joe
I think Paris could have Iron Works - it must DIE.

I think it is timie for another big settler rush from India.
We need a base inside Egypt. They still have a lot of huge cities.

Okay got it.
Game Plan -- Give Cleo a 90+ gun salute in Thebes and leave a crater there. Go knock on Joan's door in Paris with the 90+ arty and leave a hole where Paris was. All the while trying to burn Washington to the ground.

Washington will be the challenge. Spy to break production may be needed vs. America.

The Annoying Aztecs are in the way. Of course the Aztec war, should give us most of South America. ;)

Jersey Joe has the roughest turn, but I have a feeling I will still have a lot of work to do.

 Where is the the artillery stack in SA? I know I left a decent stack down there.

I think Meldor made the comment, and I agree - we need MA now. 50% science will get that in 5 turns.

Jersey Joe (currently playing)
Dark Sheer ON vacation July 27 to Aug 8. (on deck?)

10 turn rounds - 24 hours for got it.
48 hours total time to complete turn

-------------------------------------------------

Squares owned - 2738, still need - 4014 ~360 gained.

Pop owned - 1203, still need 1648 - ~190 gained, and still needed is lower :)

The good news - some civs are crippled and can wait to last.
Babylon, (getting close), Japan, Rome

The better news - some civs are dead
China, Greece, India
The bad news - Space Race status.

WAKE THE TRANSPORT BY PERSIAN TRAITORS AND SEND THE ARMY OVER.

@Jersey Joe - Please post status on how ever many turns to complete tonight. This is a very nail-biting set of turns

I spent alot of time just looking at the situation in 1700 and familairizing myself with where all our units are so I only got in 1 turn tonight.
Also, I never really use spies so I took my time with that aspect of all this, only to find out it is almost usless. I need to know the city which is building a part to try to sabotage production there.
Further time was spent trying to locate Americas resources. Since at 1700 we had an RoP with Lincoln I was gonig to use it to get close to their Aluminum sources and Washington.

Well here is what happened:

1700AD preturn - Wake up some cavalry and move into postion to attack an Aztec town. Leave the rest alone. Meldor left me a nice set-up
(I) X-man cancels the MPP we have with him. Fine withme he is fighting Egypt and America so this makes it easier to get him later.
America allies with Egypt against us. America declares war on us :( I had been thinking of using the RoP to get troops near Washington before war. One slim hope is America needs Rubber and we can deny them access to it. Wish I knew which cities to try and sabotage.
France finishes SS exterior casing (the piece which requires rubber)

1705AD On SA front - Itzapalapa & Ecatepec (2 coastal cities) are captured. Palo Alto (american) captured and razed. During the battle we get a GL - used to build an army.
I pillage what I believe to be the only road not running through our territory which links SA rubber to the north. At the moment we have the only harbors and airports in SA :)

In Egypt our artillery gets some much needed practice. At least we manage to knock a few health points off the defenders in Thebes. If I did not feel the need to have this artillery elsewhere, I would have practiced on Thebes another turn or two. We lose 2 tanks and see
lk26-thebes1.jpg

Thebes is razed and
lk26-thebes2.jpg

I can get an alliance with the Iroquois vs the Americans, but it will cost Rubber to do it. I do not want to trade away our rubber at this point especially to someone who has most if not all the techs needed to build a spaceship.

Next turn all the artillery moves from Egypt to France. With luck Paris will be a hole in the ground by 1715. Then it is back to Egypt and a beeline to its rubber sources down by the Zulus.
America is the problem. I wonder how many paratroopers it takes to kill MA :crazyeye:

1705AD Spaceship update:
Egypt 0 built 2 in progress.
Aztec 1 built 2 in progress.
France 5 built, 5 in progress.
America 6 built 3 in progress and I am hoping the last piece needs rubber.
