(I) Japan and Egypt sign a trade embargo against us. Heiraconpolis flips back to Eygpt.

1782 AD (2)
Egyptian front:
The the afront to us Heiraconpolis is burnt to the ground. DeathToTraitors is formed in the ashes of this once thriving Egyptian city. We get 418g for our trouble. Pi-Ramses is pounded down from size 20 to size 8, and since the bombardment destroyed all the infrastructure we raze it, getting 648g for the effort. Just for fun I invite Cleo to the peace table. She has 13000+g and 6 techs we don't. She won't give it all to us so we will continue to work for it. I would even have made peace for that much (and a bunch of gpt), as she has no more space parts.
American front:
San Fransisco is razed, the Americans are broke we get no money for our great cause. Position troops to bombard Boston and New York.

Only 3 players remain in the space race:
France, Zululand, and the Aztecs. None of them have more than 1 part completed and no more than 2 in progress. The Zulu will be next after the Egyptians....Consulted with the Militery advisor, they have a doubel handful of Cav and some Rifles. Can you say "Hot Butter" We have 293 MI and 78 MA. I fell guilty just thinking about it......NOT.

That is enough to rush 2 more military units in Siberia.
 
Did we capture the Egyptian sources of rubber? They are in western Africa just above Zululand. If we did, then I think we might control all the rubber in the world which would mean all other civs are limited to building riflemen. :D
What about a Conquest victory instead of Domination? :crazyeye:
 
Right now we are the only Civ that can build anything above tanks. When Heiraconpolis flipped the "best" defender unit that they got was a rifle. The Germans have exactly one Panzer. The Persians and Babs are attacking with Cav. The Egyptian and American attack unit is the Marine. I have never killed as many marines. Combined, I don't think the rest have more than 100 MI and 20 MA between them all. We have 350 or so. The biggest problem right now is the size 20+ cities with pre-built MI sitting in them. Do you waste the MA and take it straight or pound it first? Takes longer the second way, saves units the first way. Right now we are building 10+ units normally and with a +3300gpt income and 1000g from razings are rushing another 6-7 units. It would be nice to have a lot more arimies, and I think the rest of my leaders will build armies from here out. Unfortunately ourt academy was built on an island and you can't airlift armies. 6-10 Armies of MA would smash those large cites and keep going.
 
I agree the island location was a bit rough, but it at the time it was the ONLY city with decent production near Asia. It can shuttle an empty army in one turn. A idea for faster armies - does the Academy city have a nuke plant? If not, building one will speed up production a lot.


FYI:
I have figured out the solution to speed up the world map. I just need to test it - don't allow settlers in Tundra. Look at modern Canada - how many cities of size in the far north? This keeps Greenland, upper Canada, islands north of Canada and Siberia empty. This would allow a lot less for total cities. It would cut the long inter turn and city placement time a lot. Of course, it would eliminate domination as a military win. This will be included in either V4 or V5 of my world map.


Someday I will complete adding Brazil in place of Japan, and this can be tested. Maybe there will be a reason for a LK30 sometime in the future. Trouble is finding good references. I got city names. I need to figure unique unit, leaders, and sensible location for city #1. I will then need to test Brazil through UU time for a golden age, along with test USA to Amphib warfare to verify the USMC works for their UU.

The only thing stopping me from starting to test Brazil - What to make there UU. There we not involved an a lot of wars, and they lost the one that involved the territory that would become Uruguay.

It seems I am having problems with my Civ setup or with the file. I tried yesterday and today to get this to work (I was out of pocket Thur & Fri). I am posting the last saved game that I had. Somewhere in the inter-turn it lacks up on me. I tried re-loading partially and fully and it has done no good. I would like whomever is next to try and see if they can do the next turns. I hate to not complete my turn, however it looks like I will have to this once. I will do a complete wipe and re-load tomorrow if someone can get past the inter-turn. This will only be the forth time I have had to do this. I have an educated guess as to what is causing it but I have yet to be able to prove it.

Saved Game 1782AD

The next turn should be set up to take Boston, New York, Houston, and Athribis. Try taking Athribis without arty and see howmuch money we get. I am thinking it maybe a ratio by the pop of the city vs. total pop. Also, we can probably cancel the 154gpt to the Iroquois to keep them fighting. We can take the rest of America by ourselves now.

The game is stable, however it took **1 hour** to complete the inter-turn! I had the same problem my last turn when the nukes flew.


I think we continue on with Jersey Joe.

I am glad that it is still good. I suspect my video drivers. The game will freeze for long periods >10 minutes, when attempting to do some animations, and it locked up (I left it for over 2 hours at one point). Maybe it was the animations for the nukes that set it off. I have never been nuked before! I am going to go back and re-install the original, un-updated drivers and try again. I will let you know if it works.
 
1784AD inherited turn -
In NA Boston Razed at the cost fo 1 MA. New York Razed, once again we lose 1 MA but gain 2 new elits.
In Africa: Mendes recaptured. Athribis looted for 940 gold then razed. Pithom captured.
(I) Aztec jonis with France vs Germany. Aztec declare war on Germany. Persia & Egypt sign peace treaty. After we had softened it up Russian cossacks steal El-Ashmunein from us :mad:
1786AD In Africa: We capture Asyut (pop size 1 + 549 gold) & now have longevity.

Ran into a set back, game crashed in middle of 1788AD on me and I get an error at the 37% loaded point when I try to reload last save. When that happened I got PO'ed and stopped playing for the night. Looks like I will have to start from my end of 1786AD save and replay from there.
