LK30 - Regent, city placement training.

Victory is imminent...

Wow! You guys have done a great job of polishing off the world. It is indeed a privilege to be the last in the glorious line of German commanders.

Taxes to 2.8.0 for Synthetic Fibres in 5 at -310gpt. I'm not sure if the game will last that long, but if it does this can only hasten victory. With all wars over can now fire a whole bunch of entertainers. 6 new Panzers built. Celebrations break out across the nation.

We declare war on the Americans. Our destiny will be fulfilled.
Buffalo, the annoying spot of cyan within our borders for so long, is the first to be razed, with no losses, needing just two Panzer attacks. San Francisco and Houston razed in the south with no losses, each also only requiring two Panzer attacks. Drawing Panzers away from captured Roman cities, Miami is captured in the south, requiring two Panzers again. This leaves only a one tile gap to Philadelphia. Still lose three Panzers and a Cavalry in the assault against it, but Philadelphia is razed, destroying the Colossus. The rest of continental America is out of reach and will have to wait for next turn.
Drawing Panzers and Infantry away from captured Russian, Chinese and Egyptian cities, I load up Transports to head for the American island.
American turn: Lose a Panzer to a Longbow. How embarrasing for that Panzer commander! Lose another Panzer to a Rifleman, giving them a Great Leader trapped in our southern territories. Everyone else defends successfully.
6 more Panzers built.

Mobilize economy though it will make little difference. Drop off 20 Panzers and 4 Infanty onto American island.
Boston captured in the north, leaving Washington in striking distance. New York, with Magellan's Voyage, is captured, and Atlanta then Chicago razed in the south. Washington, the leader, is killed.
Assault on Washington, the city, begins. Lose no Panzers (plus none retreating) to his 4 Infantry. Washington is razed. Remaining Panzers move into position for the kill next turn.
Taxes to 4.0.6 for safety's sake (with regard to rioting).
A whole bunch more Panzers are made, and more wild celebrations break out across the German Empire.

(3) 1880 AD
St. Louis and Seattle razed, eliminating the American presence on the continent. On the American island, our 20 Panzers are more than enough for the job. New Orleans and Baltimore are captured, and Byzantium is razed, eliminating the Americans.

Regrettably, I had problems watching replay. I've no idea what the problem is, as I've never encountered this before.

Well done! From that starting postion and some weedy early city placements (ie my Frankfurt misshap) we have done quite well.

I will say it again, Panzers rock :).

Great. I think we deserved this. Thanks for all of you for keeping the pace of the game so fast.

The extra movepoint of the panzer really makes the difference. This would never had been possible with tanks.

I wasn't much of a warmonger before this, but now that I have gotten taste of it :mwaha: .

It is quite possible with tanks, I used to do it all the time. It just takes a bit longer, and a bit more planning to take the max number of cities a turn with the slower movement. Lately though, I have been playing too nice, don't declare any wars, be the nice diplomat that trades peacefully every few turns, if someone decares war on me, the rest of the world likes me so much they do all my fighting, I build the UN, give everyone all the techs I have the turn before it is complete, and win a unanimous vote (except for the vote of the person I am running against of course). This was a fun change, and I was so tempted to take out france too, since I could have done it within 20 turns, but I didn't want to monopolize all the fun ;)

Yes that's what I meant when I sain it wouldn't been possible with tanks. Speed of the conquest. When I started the war against China it was do or die situation. I had to wipe them out fast, because I didn't have enough resources available at that time for prolonged conflict. If that war would have been any longer the Chinese cities would have started flipping back because I didn't have enough troops to quell the resistance.
