LK65 - Demigod - world map

1635 AD (2)
I raze and replace the city and then found 3 others to fill in the gap including the second Kiwi city. I have to find things for a lot of sappers to do. Start shipping a lot of military to America and more will go as it is healed. I take the rifles that were guarding the sappers and put them in the cites on the fornt line with the Zulu. Whatever extra sapce is left in the galleons is stuffed with sappers. I then rush temples galore. They next person is going to like me as they will get credit for the land gains when the borders expand. Since the Aztecs were kind enough to leave us some workers in range we pick up an extra 5 sappers.
(I)I forgot to move our frigates back to safety and so they are attacked by the Aztecs. We lose two and they lose four. They also lose two Cav trying to take out rifles. I then watch as the Iroquois clean up some of theri stray units.

1640 AD (3)
Sink a redlined Aztec frigate and get an elite out of it. Withdraw the fleet for repair and refitting. Ship some 8 Galleons of military over to America.

1640 AD (3)
Spot a Songhai Frigate and 3 Frigates and a Galleon off of Spain. All of the are bombed to 1 HP and our reg Frigate promotes taking one out and scurrying back to port. Load up the galleons for America and get 32 more units over there. Capture, raze and replace Teayo. Houston and San Fran get captured and we pick up 3 workers only. The 4g per city is making it hardly worth the effort. :) Unfortunately, due to the terrain our advance is slowed. Three cities will have to do for this time out. Things should pick up once we are across the rockies. I want those spices the Holy Grail, the last lux we don't own.
(I) Nothing out of the Aztecs except they retreat their muskets. The Songhai fleet skidaddles. The Iroquois tell us to move our troops from their territory? Oh, you are asking for it...If that's the case, turn about is fair play...hmmmmaybe they will declare and save us the trouble. I will wait until I can bring six loads of fresh troops in two turns. This turn it will only be three :(

1645 AD (4)
We chase the Songhai ships down the coast. I hope they are in port for repairs when when take the island. I rush a galleon each in the crossing points. That will give 9 one way and 3 the other. I will worker/rush them again next turn.

We are at 46% as of the start of the turn. I should be able to squeeze out another couple. I have been rushing as many trmple as I can.

Looks like even 5 turns take more than one week.

Should we play fewer turns when time doesn't permit?

I use to play 10/round the whole game until this one. I reduced to 5/round just starting with this game. I don't want to go any less as you can't forget the delay as the next player gets used to the new map situation.

1645 AD (4)
We abondon and replace Houston. San Fran stays put for now because of the Iroquois culture borders. I would replace it if I could. The next city on the list is Tzintzuntzen. I was happy to abandon that one. Tlaxcala isn't much better, but it had 4 trebs. Tula gets just plain razed. Doesn't look like I will be able to get to the spices this turn but it is in the sights for next turn. Then it will be Aztec cleanup time. Pick up another 5 workers that were left behind by the Aztecs as they ran for cover.
(I)

1650 AD (5)
I capture Boston and we have spices. I would replace it, but I can't get a settler there this turn. I went for the city, even though it was a strecth because the Argies were after it big time. I don't think I can reach anything else this turn, we will see. I have a couple of cities to found. I grab Miami and try for Tlacopan but it will have to wait for next turn. Once Tlacopan is gone troop movement should be better.

I left you all the money fo rthis turn to rush what you want, settlers or temples.
I have done no diplomacy and there are several deals coming up we want to cancel. RoP with Zulu and Saltpeter, luxes with Argentina. Argentina is our next best choice. We could also build up our rifles and then ask Irqouis to move to see if they will declare.

LK65 and the end is near.

1650AD We have 12 turns of alliance together with Zulu against Songhai.
We have a long border with the Iros, but we have 10 more turns of alliance against Aztecs.
Looks like it is just wrapping up left to do, so I rush a couple of temples in front cities.

IBT: The Aztects produce a counter and scratch an exposed cavalry of ours.
Russia and Songhai makes common cause against Australia. I bet they are trembling now.
Songhai has a surprise for us on their island we just invaded. They had three cavalry in that city, but for some reason, the gods of RNG is with us, and we lose only one cavalry.
We produce quite a lot of cavalry and temples.

1655 STart by sinking a pirate threatening our shipping lanes. Then I besiege Busiris, and in spite of me killing four cavalry and two riflemen, busiris stands when I am out of attackers.
I wake up a settler and build a coastal city in western africa so I can ship home the woudned, and transport some reinforcements.
I realize I will have to rush more settlers this turn, as we do not have any for now. I will capture instead, and keep a minimal guard in the cvities, accepting the flip risk.
I lose three cavalry taking out Tacopan. I did not have any armies, as they all need to heal.
I will station a single cavalry in the city, as it is a HUGE flip risk.

I park a couple of hundred workers outside Delhi.

I manage to score a leader on the small island siege. I have seven cavalry in range of Oil springs, but I decode to wait for next turn, in case I run into a super-rifle.
Next turn I will have three healed armies available.
After shipping, I have fifteen cavalry. That should be enough to take a rifledefended city.

I defeat the veteran on top flawlessly, but then the two conscript defenders both manage to kill their assigned cavalry attackers.
All in all I use five cavaley, and two of them are lost. I have ten left, thats probably good enough for one more target.

In order to save myself some time, and since all cities on this continent are properly railed, I set a CONTINENTAL RALLY POINT in Phoenix, our Berings Strait city.
Clear it if you do not approve/want to use it.
I spend most of our gold rushing settlers. I do nto feel comfortable capturing such culture rich cities as the Aztecs possess.

IBT: The argentinians are arriving at the Aztec border in force now. I can see some 30 cavalry. A Galleon I had misclicked takes a beating and sinks after sinking the first Frigate.
That was confusing, a purple cavalry just shot another purple cavalry in the americas. Obviously Argentine and Iroq are at war with one another.

1660 I have Iroqs all over our railnet, so I start to double it, so we have multiple paths to the front.

I use a couple of Cavalry armies to kill the four riflemen in Philly, and Asoka appears leading an elite cavalry against the remaining longbow.
The I raze Philly. I use this army, and another one to capture Atlanta. I need the cultural borders to reach the last Aztec city on this continent.
I will also plant a city on the coast here, so I can rush a galleon or two. Then I curse myself vividly, as I did not realize in time that it would have been good to only load three cavs into the army.
I capture Seattle, the last Aztec city on the mainland, and all I can see if one Aztec city on a nearby island. Thus a worker-rush galleons in the closest three cities.

Founding/capturing cities takes a while. All in all, this was a one hour turn, and then the fighting was not particularly intense.

IBT: Nothing remarkable happens, except I discover the Aztecs have snuck up a couple of cities on the northern islands.
Electricity comes in, and I start another min science on Replaceable parts.

1665 I raze Busiris, the second to last accessible Songhai city. All that remains of them is an old deal to war with them, and a pair of one and two tile islands.
I rush temples all along the african coast. Just noticed the Palace prebuild, so I start Scientific Method research, and speed it up considerably, so I could use the prebuild for the Hoover boost.
I rush galleons in the north, so I can go there. I also start to move against the other two tile island.

IBT: Iroq and Argentine sign peace. Aztecs sign peace with America. :)O

1670 I spend a lot of time making workers move, even though I have parked 150 workers by Delhi.
Since trouble is making itself scarce, I go out to look for some. I ask the Iroq to leave, and they do what I want, and declare against us.
This coming turn is likely to take a while, since I want to find all the Iros in our territory, and I do not want to go to war against the argentinians.
Hopefully tomorrow. ( I start today though. )

We were at 47% or so at the end of my turn. I rushed a lot of temples in Africa and in America. When all the cities get there first culture expansion we should be close to 52 or so. If Grimjack takes most of the Iroquois territory, we should be pretty close to 60+ once temples kick in. Taking Zulu and/or Argentina should do it, even withour temople rushes.

Due to a recent situation in an LK game I am adding new house rules as listed below:
Standard LK house rules ADDITION:
7) Once you post a skip notice it is irrevocable.
8) If I skip a player to due a missed got it, or over due turn the turn is invalid if the next player has posted a got it.

I raze Washington, Chicago, and in both cities I am rewarded by only five workers, one short of roading the tile. :(
Akbar comes forth in mopping up action when I spot a couple of Iroq rifles and cavs in the north. I kill off all exposed Iroq cavalry, some 5-6 and a couple of Riflemen.
I forgot to declare war against the russians before I moved forces there, so I will have to back off. What a waste of a strike force. ( Russians do not have much land, but I want them out. It is MY world. )
I raze Gandasetaigon to relieve some cultural pressure on us. Time to shuffle riflemen :)
I raze Goiguen with the last army I had saved to cover troops. Once again only five workers. After much shuffling, I adjust the ratio of riflemen versus cavalry in our productive cities.

I hope I have covered most/all of our vulnerables, and then press 'End Turn'.

IBT: I watch in amazement as an Aztec archer manages to defend against an Iroq Cavalry. Songhai charges out with five cavalry against our invading force, and they manage to kill two of our covering riflemen, while losing one cavalry, and retreating one.
I lose New Madras 4. The single rifleman defending it didn't stand much of a chance against the determined Iroq attackers.
Iroqs capture Oil Springs. In Iceland one of our cavs defend successfully against two attacking Iroq cav. And finally, I had missed to cover a worker stack, and I lose it. ( An Iroq unit was disguised inside a huge blob of Argentinian units. )

1675 I move our ships outside of Russias borders, and declare before landing our invading force.
Arggg, Why are our impotent cavalry unable to ever kill a redlined rifleman.
I recapture oil Springs. I want the cultural border so I can reinforce easier at the front.
I capture Coatapec from the Aztecs. I want the harbor so I can ship in some more forces so I can liberate this rather large island. I capture Ecapetec from the Aztecs, and it is starting to get hard to find Aztecs anywhere.
I pillage a horse from the Iroqs, and hope it is their only one. This army is on its way to isolate Salamanca, to prevent trade.
I capture Tlalmanaco, and I am out of Aztec cities. They have a one tile island somewhere that is the capitol somewhere.
I capture Allegheny in order to cut off any Iroq reinforcements from reaching the rockies.
I have some bad luck, and I cannot even get rid off the exposed Iroq cavalry. I have lost some four cavalries against unfortified other cavalries.

I may have forgotten to move some forces somewhere. We have large estates. I recommend when we get more riflemen, do plant some new cities to get a bigger cultural border.

Here there is a save.

This is not my best work, but distractions together with the evil gods of RNG worked together to even out the good turns I had the last round. Do control my borders, they are shaky, and can quite probably be improved by moving forces around.

My apologies, I got overwhelmed by the number of troops we had, and I incorrectly assumed I had troops enough to just smash through the Iroq cultural border.

Several armies need healing now, but I do not think the Iroqs will last much longer than ten turns.

I think we keep from making deals with anyone and just make this one AW. We ahve all the luxes and we should be able to finish the Zulu witht he armies in Africa.

I made no deals, nor sales. With our size, we do not need them, and they would possibly slow us down.
