Just got this bug twice today for the first time. First time was after loading a save after a retirement caused the game to freeze, the second was after dropping and trying to rejoin. When loading a window pops up and reads "The save file you have selected is protected to ensure that the assets in your mod folder have not been changed." There's an OK button on the small window and once you press it the game crashes to desktop.
