Looking for WW2 military resources...

I'm doing a little research into the Pacific War war, but am having trouble finding a source (beyond Wikipedia and other not-wholly-reliable internet references) for numbers of Japanese and American planes produced and used. I want to be able to make a meaningful comparison between the numbers and quality.

Does anyone interested in the period know of a reliable source, like a US Army study or something along those lines? I've found plenty of books on the airwar, but they don't go into detail on this matter.

I haven't looked to see if they have what you want, but I find the Online Bookshelves and Research Materials of the US Army's Center for Military History to be a generally useful resource.

The Strategic Bombing Survey, although suspect in it's political motivations, has extensive and acurate airpower data.
