Have you ever "lost time" when playing civ 3? Last night I sat down to play at 10:00pm. I would have sworn it was 10:20 at the latest, but when I looked at the clock, it was 12:30. This especially happens to me when I'm embroiled in a war. What's the longest period anyone has ever lost track of?

woohoo! I'm 100% of the vote!

Benefit of being 21. No wife. No kids.

School, however... :(

I used to, but now i have a clock neatly situated beside my monitor. No more excuses :(

I always lose track of time, but the worst i think was a session started at 9pm and ended at around 4am!!! I promised myself that i'd stop at 12am so i could wake up early and do some studying.;)

i lose track of time quite often when playing civ but not as bad as some mentioned in the posts above!

that clock beside the monitor is a good idea...should have come up with that...

I am a huge Simpsons' fan (seen every episode about 8 times), however, ever since my love for Civilization has turned into an addiction I've been missing the Simpons' every night! It's so very sad... I keep looking up at the clock to realize that the episode I was planning on watching ended an hour ago. :( Oh well, I guess I should just Tivo them from now on...

I've stayed up late a lot playing this summer. Unfortunitly school starts again soon. :(

Welcome to CFC, k-girl!

:hmm: no one has voted for "never" yet...

I know the "Just One More Turn" syndrome very, very well... ;-)
I think I was one of the first diagnosed with it.

And yes, I often lose track of time while playing Civ. And Conquests is coming, so....

General Failure

I once lost track of time and finally became aware of my true surroundings 6,500 years later. Or at least i think it was 6,500 years. I've got the clocks set in "turns."

I lost track of time, beginning in 1998. I just looked at the calendar, and it says 2003. Looks like I lost 5 turns out of my life!
;)

If I have something that I have to do at a specific time I turn on an alarm on my cell phone. Sometimes, I actually pay attention to the alarm. If I don’t set the alarm, I am sure to be late.

I have a wife and kids too. Where civ is involved, I still haven’t picked up that family responsibility stuff.

Actually I know exactly how long I've been playing. The problem is I can't get off the computer even though I know I've been playing for hours.

When that "Just One More Turn" syndrome kicks in, it can be hours before I shake myself free. :)
I keep an alarm clock by my computer, set to go off at 11:30. When it buzzes, I force myself to save and quit the game.

However, on weekends, I'll start playing just after lunch and the next thing I know my wife says "supper's on the table."
