Luck factor is too big in the beginning

I can see both sides of this and I think the issue that is frustrating is the luck piece. The maps all coming in like you played with the world editor for an hour first isn't going to make the game more fun after about the 2nd play through, but at the same time having a game that goes +/- 2 difficulty levels based on the first 50 turns of random luck isn't any fun either.

the problem is you're picking a difficulty level before you see the map, so the chance of getting a close game is really tiny when the luck factor is so huge

if you get a good map, you blow past the AI and switch to a higher difficulty
then you get a bad map, get rushed by the cheating AI and switch to a lower difficulty
repeat the process

Who else agree or disagree with me?
Starting positions always were varied in every civ game, but in civ6 the difference could mean several difficulty levels.
For example in one game I met 5 city states first, I got production/faith/culture for free in an other game i found none but got boxed in very fast as i had 4 neighbors just on my doorsteps.
The barbarians sometimes non factor, in an other game i had the first barb scout reach my border in turn 3, a second arrived in turn 4. building my first unit, a scout took 9 turns (epic speed) and my warrior was sent for scouting, so in this game i had very hard time fending them off.

Yeah, I had to ragequit one game where a barb camp spawned before I had even built my first unit, and when my starting warrior barely survived killing the barb near it, it spawned TWO horsemen and a horse archer. They killed the warrior and then monkey stomped my newly made slinger.
