With the 2 mongol waves, the first goes to the middle east and the other to russia? And the Timurid waves go both the middle east? Or does one go to Anatolia?

No, both Mongol waves go to the same place, either or, not both. The Timurids always enter near Baghdad.

So Russia has a chance not to get touched at all? Also, about the timurids, how do you defeat cannon elephants as Byzantium? The only way I can tell is using bombards.

Russia indeed has a chance of not getting hit. The cannon elephants, no clue. Never faced them, the Mongols were still around when the timurids came, and they killed each other for me.

Javelins get a bonus against elephants and skirmishes are often cheap. Elephants also fear flaming arrows as well as artillery.

Hit them with all 3 things early to try and make them route

Thanks. I never use javilins, I feel they are to weak agaist infantry and to vulnerable to cavalry.

I agree, they are only a step up from peasants really. If I do use them it is when I am in a pinch and get mercenarys or if I am against elephants. Even them I just set them behind a decent infantry unit and send the infantry unit into attack. Then I have the javelins that are right behind the infantry fire over the heads of their own men on too the enemy.

I like many other people (as you can tell from the stats on some mods) feel that the damage is too low on Javelins.
