M3 Extensive Mod

Aiight. I've reinstalled the whole thing again, changed everything to what you said, and still the gam crashes is there anything that i'm not doing?
I placed all the file where there are suppose to go and backed up the other to a new directory in my comp.
How come it still crashes very early in the game?

I just downloaded the mod and started playing it and I really like it so far. I have 2 issues though:

1) My first combat ended successfully, but now whenever I move that victorious unit, it leaves a grey trail behind it. It disappears before the next turn so it's more a nuissance than anything, but I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. I also haven't had another battle, so I don't know if this will occur after each one, or if there's just a glitch with this one unit.

2) What is the purpose of putting resources on the coast? I like the idea (and i think that oil should also be available on the coastal and sea tiles). However, it seems to me that a city can only take advantage of resources that have a road to it or a colony on it. I have only had civ 3 for a week and have not had much time to play, but at least in the early stages that seems to be the case. If I'm wrong, then how do you take advantage of those resources? If I'm right, then what is the value of placing resources on water tiles (other than for the sake of realism)?

Thanks again for the mod, it saved me lots of time and trouble.

 :nuke:

Well, I downloaded your mod and altered it to my likings then tried to play the game. The game crashed whenever I attempted to build my capital city (yes, I have 1.17f)

So, I reinstalled your mod right over the old one I editted. Tried to build my capital city and CRASH!

So, I reinstalled Civ 3 and the 1.17f patch. Installed the mod and CRASH!!

So, I left all your files and copied the original civ3mod.bic file back in and the game works fine.

Any ideas??

Oh yeah, btw, the units_32.pcx link you have in your post of 3-7-2002 on your angelfire web site doesn't work (page requested can't be found).

:crazyeyes

Well, got the MOD to work...only took four and a half hours of completely reworking the changes into a new civ3mod.bic file...and making sure the phalanx problem was corrected as well...and renaming a few files...

Works ok now...so far no crashes anyhow...will see when I get to play a full game tomorrow... :D

Guess we'll see then...

So much for the game not crashing...anytime I get to the year 3700 BC and go to the next turn, CRASH! I have 1.17f...I have taken care of the Phalanx folder issue...I have made sure no technology is using icon 82...getting kind of miffed!!

Anyway, I am running WinXP...and here are the error messages I get when it crashes...

And the text file referred to at the bottom of the second error message...(as an attachment to this message)

Anyone have ANY clue as to what is going on...I would really like to use this mod without having to write down stats for every tech/unit/improvement, etc. and re-entering them one at a time...

HELP PLEASE!!

Your mod seemed quite promising, so I just downloaded it. But I almost immediately encoutered 2 pbs (and yes, I do have the 1.17f patch):

* The Civilopedia is completely upside down. Some civilopedia entries cause the game to crash (examples : The Wheel, The Laser), and what's more there are a lot of problems with the pictures : all the last techs have pictures of early ones, like pottery, some gvts have techs pictures... Etc, etc.

* A lot of the new resources are invisible. They are mentioned when looking at terrain info, but they just don't appear, for examples game, strawberry... After reading other threads about resources, I learned only the first 24 resources pics can be used (I'm not very familiar with the game yet, it has just been released here). Was it supposedly resolved with the 1.17f patch ? If so, it's not mentioned on the official site. Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

Well, that's about it, because considering these two bugs, I didn't even tried to play more than a few turns (quite boring to check terrain info of every square before founding a new city ;-) I'd just like to know if I'm the only one to have these bugs, I'm quite surprised nobody mentioned them before. I hope it can be corrected in the future, because I'd really like to play with your mod.

Yeba
