So is your goal to: a) maximize your chance of winning b) win as quickly/ efficiently as possible (with a given victory condition) or c) show off how to use as much of the game as possible?

A little of each, but definitely not b. Some AIs got too far ahead, so needed a trim. At least for this game, one stated goal was to test the AIs abilities on a water map after the most recent patch. Probably won't play water maps again until more work is done on the ai, in vanilla anyways.

I don't really go for 'super efficient min time in game before VC'.
