Mafia: The League of EEEEEVIL!!! [Sign-ups]

You've probably been wondering what my SUPER SECRET game that I've had in the Mafia Queue for a while is. Well, wonder no more! Unveiling my no-longer-SUPER SECRET game, which is currently going by the tentative name of The League of EEEEEVIL!!! Because the type of bad guys that would come up with that name think it sounds awesome.

The League of EEEEEVIL!!! is a bunch of assorted cartoon villains that mostly aspire to TAKE OVER AT LEAST SOME PART OF THE WORLD!!! Or at least have some lulz while helping the other villains TAKE OVER AT LEAST SOME PART OF THE WORLD!!!

Like in Chaotix's Council of Villains or Kennigit's Archetype Mafia, this group of bad guys, the League of EEEEEVIL!!! will be the Town, and opposing them will be various cartoon character good guys, who will be the Mafia. Third parties may or may not also exist in this game.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Choxorn, how did you come up with an idea this amazingly awesome? Can you have my babies?" To which I answer, that's SUPER SECRET, and maybe. But you might also be wondering some other things, like the rules, or the number of players in the game, or how vanilla-y the game is.

And to answer those: I'm letting YOU decide! Well, a little bit. I have several different ideas for how vanilla-y the game should be, some of which will take longer to do than others and some of which will probably change the rules and the number of players a bit. Since you're the ones playing the game, I figure I should probably ask you what you prefer. Entirely Vanilla? Vanilla with a Cherry on Top? A freakin' Sundae with one scoop of all 31 of Baskin Robbins' Ice Cream Flavors? Something else? That's up to you, just vote in the poll, and sign up in the thread. Once I can tell what players want, that's what I'll do.

Rules:

1. Rule #1:

Do not talk about the Rules

Read all of these rules, please. I will slap you with fish if you don’t read them.

2. Rule #2:

Do NOT talk about the Rules

Be active and have fun! It will make the game that much better. Don’t make me put your name on a plaque in the Inactive Hall of Shame.

3. Game Phases:

This game is divided into two phases: Day and Night.

Day

Day is 48 hours long.

During the day phase, you vote for a player who you want to be lynched.

Night

Night is 24 hours long.

During the night, you send me a PM telling me what night actions/abilities/orders/whateveryouwanttocallthem that you want to use.

For some reason or another, in game or not, I might not be able to update on time, but I'll have it done as soon as I can, so don't panic if I the deadline comes and I'm not around.

4. Abilities:

Every player has at least one ability. Abilities do whatever they say they do. Some are active, which means you need to tell me when and how you want to use them, and some are passive, which means they happen automatically.

5. Lynches

Every player MUST vote during the Day Phase for a player to be lynched by the town. Votes must be bolded. Vote: Tags are optional. For a retraction, either strike through (If you don’t know how to do that, it is done using the [s][/s] tags) your old vote or Unvote: it. I won’t penalize you for not unvoting correctly, but please do it anyway, to make my tallying easier.

Avoid editing posts if at all possible, especially posts with votes. If you edit a post with a vote, the vote will be rendered in valid and I will be an angry panda.

If you repeatedly miss votes or even don’t post at all, I will send you a kindly reminder via PM to get off your lazy posterior and vote. If you continue to be inactive, you will risk being WoG’ed or replaced, at my discretion. You can also, if you think you can’t keep playing, request a replacement, and I’ll try to find one.

Abstain is allowed, but No Lynch isn’t.

6. Victory

Each player has a main Victory Condition, and a Personal Goal in their Role PM. Completing your Victory Condition is worth 70% of your total Victory Points, your Personal Goal is worth 20%, and the remaining 10% will depend on whether or not you survive.

7. Communication

All forms of Private Communication are allowed. PM’s? IM’s? Quicktopics? Messages written in the sky? Messages sent through alternate dimensions by giant robots? Sure, go ahead. If you could forward me any of these (especially the QT links), that would be much appreciated, I like to know what your evil plans are.

Do not directly quote anything I send you, including your role PM. Don’t say when it was sent, or what the third letter of the fourth sentence of your character description is, or anything like that, and don’t try to circumvent this rule any way I haven’t immediately thought of. You can paraphrase it, but no direct quotes.

Do not post screenshots. EVER. No, not even then.

You can talk during both day and night unless otherwise stated.

8.Injuries and Death

For some reason, you might get injured, probably because someone else injured you. If you’re injured, you can still vote, but can’t use any active abilities and any passive abilities you have will stop working. You become uninjured a full day/night phase after you get first injured (for example, let’s say you get injured night 2- then you’re still injured on day 3 and night 3, but healthy on day 4)

For other, more numerous reasons, you might become dead. If you’re dead, you can’t do a lot of the things that living people do, like vote or use abilities. You also can’t privately communicate, unless you want spoilers, in which case I’ll send you a link to the dead QT of people who want spoilers. You can still post in the thread, though. If you have spoilers, you can’t make cases or do anything to help the living players, but you can still make silly comments/curse the people who killed you/that sort of thing. If you don’t have spoilers, you can still make cases and try to help the living a bit, but you can’t reveal any knowledge or anything from your previous life that hasn’t already been revealed in public.

9. Amendments

These rules may be amended. Contrary to popular belief, I'm not perfect, and this game, like most mafia games, is somewhat complex. If I need to impose a new rule, or change an existing rule, it will be very carefully considered and I promise it will be in the best interests of all players and it will also have been necessary. I probably won’t have to add/change any rules, but something weird might happen that requires me to.

10. Don’t be a douchebag.

This is a game which can involve lying, bluffing, and backstabbing, possibly. It's not personal, it's just business.

That said, please follow the game rules, and obey all forum rules.

Should something frustrating happen, please do not verbally attack a fellow player or the game host or anyone else. You are allowed to criticize ideas and suggestions, but do not call people dumb.

Example: "I think that's a bad idea. We shouldn't do that at all. In fact, I think you suggested it because you're guilty."

This is okay! Notice how we're saying the idea is bad, advising against it, and even suggesting the player could be trying to destroy our team. However, we are not attacking that player.

Example: "What are you, stupid? Only someone stupid would say that!"

This is not okay. This is attacking a player. It's a friendly game. Don't do this. Excessive douchebaggery will be met with swift kicks to the posterior of the offender that are hard enough to catapult them outside of this game.

I'm also confused at the significant discrepancy in number of people voting in the poll and the number of people who posted in the thread.

cherries are nasty though, but maybe some hot fudge with no sprinkles? Maybe a little sprinkles?

also in all honesty I enjoy games that I see the host has passion for behind it; if you have an idea on where it should be on the ice cream spectrum, you should do it. Helps the creative process, etc etc.

Well, with one exception, nobody wants complete vanilla so far, so I guess I can rule that out.

Zack is right, though, there's a lot of people who voted in the poll but didn't post in the thread... people who did that, is it because you want to know what type of game this is before you sign up, or because you just forgot to post, or some other reason I'm not thinking of?
