I remember in the past seeing a chart with all the magic speheres in a circle showing the opposing pairs as well as where each religion fell on the sphere. Does anybody know what I am talking about and where I can find it?

:( I can't access that link. :(

So there will be more spheres added later!

Placement in that grid is important too. Every sphere (except metamagic) is opposed by the sphere opposite it across the metamagic sphere. So Ice is opposed by Nature, Body by Spirit and Law by Chaos.

is there any sort of chart that ties spells to their particular mana sphere (or mana sphere combinations), and by level? would be uber handy to say, ok i have fire already, what spells could i get if i build this or this mana next....

i find it too difficult to go through the pedia one by one trying to figure it out.

What means the 4 images which are on the 4 corners of the image?

It would be fun to have this image in pedia.

Just decoration, that page wasn't made for the mod. I made it at least 10 years ago for the D&D game. It was one of the pages in the game rules.

That seems to line up with civs, too. The Ljosalfar are enemies of the Illians, the Elohim oppose the Calabim, and the Bannor hate the Doviello, IIRC.

Well, one of them was the old picture for Kael Coalbane (the Svartalfar hero). No clue what the others are.

is it possible there will be 21 religions? (not is it conceivable, but rather, how much of a chance is there that it will happen) itd be fairly interesting if every civ had a religion of their own, would add some very interesting layers to wars and peaceful expansion.

That's one thing that was alredy discussed I think, and Kael said he would like to do it, but it would be overly complicated and not worth the effort, or something along these lines. For example, imagine trying to create 21 diferent bonus to keep them different from each other....

Yeah a worship of each god. The style god would support it, but like you say there is no way we would want 21 religions in a game.

We talked about the maximum reasonable amount of religions and thought about having base techs which would allow the first reasearcher to pick a religion for it. So the first person to research Infernal Pact would get to pick which of 3 evil religions he wants to found. The other 2 wouldn't ever show up in that game.

That way you have 21 religions on 7 founding techs with a max of 7 in one game.

But thats way way way down the line. There are so many other things we want to work on before then.

so having 21 religions but only ever 7 in a game at a time?

ya i figure its way down the line, but the idea of playing a game where everyone has a unique religion would be interesting. like, lets say you manage to convert someone to your religion, that means theyd abandon their old religion, and then you could make anyone with the same religion in automatic alliances.

Does this mean you plan to add diplo bonuses-penalities based on opposing spheres and spheres used by the civ rather than the current "good hates entropy and death" system?
