Magic:the gathering

Both, I don't really play online much tho - only a couple of limited games. :)

I play both. In paper, I play casual and sometimes Standard or Draft. Online, I mostly play Pauper. It's dirt cheap because it's only commons.

So, as to answer LJ's question from the WWW thread, I run a White/Green deck. A lot of the token cards are white cards (Conqueror's Pledge, Eyes in the Sky, etc.), and I like to place Unruly Mob and Wayfaring Temple in order to take advantage of tokens on the field/tokens being killed.

What about Intangible Virtue?

Can we see the decklist?

Seeing that you play cards like Eyes in the Sky grants some leeway in regards to what is playable, I guess - which helps me as I'm a primarily casual player.

If you are facing down damage (For example, Pyroclasm), things like Safe Passage might help. Depending on what you're using green for, Brave the Elements will both save your creatures and give reach if (when!) your opponent has built up defenses. Reverent Mantra might however be relevant as it saves all of your creatures regardless of color, but it is very expensive even if it is castable with no mana.

If your issue is stuff like Day of Judgment, I actually can't help you through card selection - the key to playing against mass removal as a swarm-y deck is not to use up all your resources and hold back a little bit as they will inevidently play a card that wipes the board. You must both keep enough pressure to overcome their defense on the board while having enough in reserve to finish them if they push the red button.

If your issue is stuff like Curse of Death's Hold, it's more problematic - this is a concrete hoser towards the token strategy and must be dealt with through playing cards you should already play, such as Intangible Virtue, Gaia's Anthem etc. that boost your creatures to begin with.

Leyline of Sanctity will end you.

On Unruly Mob: He is meant for a token deck, but personally, I think he'd make more sense in a white-black shell where your creatures are supposed to die, if not willingly. With that you also get access to power like Lingering Souls, Altar's Reap (not that strong I admit, but a personal favorite) and Grave Pact. Again, willingly sacrificing your own stuff is funny! Perhaps just to me.

Also, Unruly Mob dies to Pyroclasm badly.

Anyways, check out this fun thing and this fun thing.

Gravepact is LOONG out of Standard. Right now, Innistrad Block, M13, Return to Ravnica Block, and M14 are legal. However, in October, Innistrad Block and M13 are rotating out and Theros is rotating in... fingers crossed for a good Stax deck.

What's the mana cost for this necro?

Sez the guy who played a couple hands with a friend's deck and got whipped.

Decklist in the spoiler.

I also have some other cards that I put into a pile that don't mix well in the deck because they first came with it and had to be removed because they were relatively useless.

There are quite a few cards that do not mingle well with a populate deck. Some cards are decent and/or aggressive enough to warrant inclusion due to a lack of proper card pool (Silvercoat Lion and Stormfront Pegasus are very average-although-somewhat-potent run-of-the-mill commons. They are "good enough" because they hit 2 damage for 2 mana. Pegasus actually works quite well when the opponent does not use flying) but stuff like Pillarfield Ox should go out asap, and instead be replaced with a card more well-costed to an aggressive strategy (such as tokens..!). All of these cards are really bad examples (because they depend on the individual strategy), but in the deck style such as tokens, you more often need a high power (that can get through and kill creatures/deal damage..!) than high toughness, as protecting yourself is overrated when attacking.

I know all of this is very vague, but I try to help you help yourself rather than feed you absolute knowledge. That's the wrong kind of help imo.

Also I did not have time to look over every individual card for this post. I might tomorrow. Thanks for the decklist though, then we can properly get an understanding of your strategy!

Although, a general rule of thumb: Decks such as yours don't even need Silvercoat Lion or Stormfront Pegasus. They need cards to increase your population and boost the common strength..! this guys is fun btw

Stax in Standard?

Wizards spoiled that Theros has a very strong enchantment theme.

Oo, I love spoilers.

Wizards spoiled that Theros has a very strong enchantment theme.

Yea I know, but things like Stax and Land destruction are stuff that they simply do not make anymore. They want each player to play.

Dark Ritual and Hymn to Tourach are making a come back! :D

Did I understand that right?

Good luck finding them before everyone in your store buys the 2 copies the store gets and the price skyrockets on eBay...

Delver should have been the card of the year for 2012, easily. He has made waaaaaay more impact on every format then Kessig Wolf Run. Then again, Wizards is in love with Green and the combat step.

Since when has Wizards been in love with green?

Or are you still, whatyasay, willfully biased? I find it kind of amusing of course, in a friendly manner, than you just said so and continuosly keep that attitude ^^,

I was sarcastic when I said I was unbiased. I am extremely biased towards all things blue control
